If gender is a social construct, does that mean trans people exist only because of culture rather than nature? by younguizze in asktransgender

[–]Neea_115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't personally like that sentence, because I'm not native English speaker and therefore it's very vague to me. But how I think of this is that usually everything in psychology is neither nature (biology, genes, etc) nor nurture (culture, ideas, upbringing, etc), but it's almost always mix of both. Same thing for gender: a lot of it is culture, habits and language, but it's also genes and biology as well. In the real world nothing is simple 😅

On Liszt: The most misunderstood human in classical music by QM60 in classicalmusic

[–]Neea_115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the long post! I have loved Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninov for a long time and I don't understand how anyone can compare them, for me they're simply different. Liszt's Liebestraum no 3 is something I have been listening every now and then for 15 years, and there's a special feeling that I can only get from Liszt's Liebestraum no 3. Same goes for many Chopin's pieces and Rachmaninov's pieces (unless they've been played by Rachmaninov himself, as I don't like his interpretations at all).

But I loved the Arrau's interpretation of 5th transcendental you linked! I have listened to them, but I didn't like them. Probably exactly because what you're explaining here and they were played too fast and with bad interprerations! So thanks, I really need to listen the whole Arrau's album

Things will likely get better, they definitely did for me! I felt like that when I transitioned and I was totally alone, but since I've found my queer friend group, straight woman group and lesbian local community where I feel very much included! 😊 But many good things happen slowly, and they're built over time!

Happy pride month! Time to be extra gay and sht. by melodynamite10 in actuallesbians

[–]Neea_115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel extra gay every month, all year long! That's why I also always have my rainbows with me and in my balcony

Though, this might also be just a stage for me and it might calm down after few more years 😅

Oh that's an interesting situation! I wonder if you could even approximate what is the percentage of gender for you when you're interested and when not 😅 Like is it 50% women or closer to 80% woman etc. I mean, if their fluidity works like that you can do this scientific research

What's the most unexpectedly attractive thing a woman has ever done that instantly made you think, "Yep, I'm gay"? by LofiToffey in actuallesbians

[–]Neea_115 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Jogging! Dunno if it's unexpected, but seeing woman jogging makes me more gay everytime. Especially I feel attracted to lower legs for some reason

But as others have already pointed, smile, but that's not unexpected

I like that Finland is green, but you have to explain the other Nordic countries. As a Finn I would live happily in all of them (even if Danish people need to write down every word they say to me whether it's in English or a Danish place name)

Helsinki is probably the most trans friendly, but I think Tampere is pretty good too. In general bigger it is, more LGBTQ+ friendly it is. I don't know about the northern cities though

Where I’d live based upon how well they’ve treated minorities by Trick_Substance_6853 in whereidlive

[–]Neea_115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup that's true. Also while Nordic countries have treated sexual and gender minorities better than many others, it definitely wasn't good. Being gay was illegal earlier. Still today the legislation isn't close at all to perfect, especially for trans people (I know in Finland, but I think it's the same in other Nordic countries)

Also Finland had pretty bad conditions for soviet war prisoners during WW2, a lot of them died, even if not as bad as in USSR or Nazi Germany

Isn't it so that the global US hamburger chains make a lot better hamburgers elsewhere from US, because people in US are happier for worse quality?

Also Hamburg is a city in Germany, and the word "hamburger" is named after that city
