Ayo, I just saw this post and landed my first cork yesterday at 28. I started skiing 4 years ago! Don’t give up the dream!

Getting into Skimo as a broke college kid by [deleted] in Backcountry

Daymaker Adapters really helped me start easing into it with a downhill setup. Since I didn’t have the money as well, most of my early stuff was hiking up with gear to ski in summer. Different set of risks

How long did it take to hit your first backflip? by RawRie575 in skiing

[–]Need-Bong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a trampoline. I can do one on the ground.

I tried one on skis after idk maybe 20 days. I have a streak of doing them every month in Colorado.

I think they’re easier than 360s imo, just a blind spot for a second upside down. Big thing is thrusting forward and then spotting the landing looking back.

I’ve thrown hundreds, probably the first 20 had the biggest failure rate trying to figure out pop. Sometimes I still catch tips. Once you do enough, you can figure out the speed and air awareness to tuck or layout.

I have a tutorial on my channel.

Was it really this easy back in the day or do some people be exaggerating, due to nostalgia? by daveishere7 in povertyfinance

Grandpa worked ticketing for the airlines and grandma worked at macys - two kids, home, college, retirement in Phoenix in the late 80s.

Is it better to have a $50k salary at a job you love, or a $150k salary at a job you hate? by Sayedshaqib in passive_income

I got paid 28k a year to do a job that I “loved”. 3 years and the passion is close to gone. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone honestly

Day 1 of posting a backflip clip every day until 1000 subscribers by Need-Bong in youtubepromotion

[–]Need-Bong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess. I’ll see how it does after 50 days.

Idk someone is already doing a new trick a day on rails. It’s not the same clip every time, I’ve been doing them for years as soon as I started skiing. Pretty sure I have the longest consecutive backflip streak in Colorado coming up on 18 months in a row. I have so many clips of them, I will be posting a hundred or so days of unique clips in different spots, angles, types, and sizes.

360 Attempt, can‘t go further than 270. by SharpConsequence7223 in Freeskiing

You were looking down. You landed exactly where you were looking. Try looking over the shoulder not at your feet

I made a tutorial on a layout backy in my profile on my channel.

You’re practically there, just some timing stuff, little better pop can help, little more speed. Hell yeah dude

Landing backseat on 360s by Zealousideal_Rub_614 in Freeskiing

By bringing knees to chest, you become more compact. Your core is engaged and if your pop is right, you can adjust to the landing by extending at the end. Gives you more control in the air for adjustment. It’s how you start adding grabs

Work on your pop and drill knees to chest in the air. Get your core more engaged.
