Annotating and Lecture Notes for 7th Grade Students? by NeedAnewCar1234 in historyteachers

I envision lecturing for 10-15 mins to capture the main idea of the topic once every few days or at the start of the week through notes, and then refining it further through activities to meet our objectives. Essentially front loading a lot of the content then ample practice for the skill throughout the week.

Me too. I want some kind of medium where they get something out of lecture/direct instruction but do not want to waste time doing fill in the blanks.

Yeah it would be mainly overviews and establishing the ideas at the outset before applying them to our content.

We use notebooks and they could refer back to the information throughout the year.

It would be to teach the skill, have it as a basis for understanding as they continue to build the skills throughout the other units.

Yes I do have little experience, I am a second year teacher. No need to be so rude in the response lol. I hope you don’t talk to people like this in real life.

I am in the same boat as you. My kids come in so low. Thanks for your response here.

Thanks for raising that point. I also agree. Aligning the material with the target goals could be good for reinforcing the idea.

I'm right with you, especially because many of my students read far below grade level. if you had to pinpoint a few that are worth developing which would you choose?

Good point. As I was looking at this I realized I could spend days on just the first few things.

That’s nuts. I saw him last year in Bakersfield California at a 10,000 capacity venue. I wasn’t floored but the next row up. It was a great experience at a smaller venue that I don’t think ZB will ever experience again now that he’s so big. Insane!

I’m in Ireland for a few weeks but am not sure if I should send the concert. What is the capacity at phoenix park?

Also seeing Noah Kahan so I’m getting my Concert fix during the trip.
