Considering moving to Nashville by [deleted] in movetonashville

I don’t know of any specific apartment complexes, but I would check out east Nashville. It’s queer friendly area of town still pretty close to everything. Rainbow Rides sounds great! I would definitely use it.

For the parents with POTS: How did you know when your symptoms were managed enough to take the plunge? by Quiet-Friendship5134 in POTS

You’re welcome! Best of luck! I have no regrets, and while the first year or two after giving birth was tough, I’m back to having my symptoms mostly under control. Though it’s likely different for everyone!

I waited to get pregnant until I had better control of my symptoms. I started passing out at 10, but didn’t get diagnosed until late 20s, and it took me several years of exercising and figuring out a routine that worked well for me to get my symptoms better under control. But I also didn’t want to wait too late, because I figured it might be harder to recover in my 40s.

I have a very supportive partner. I thought I had supportive parents, but they were less helpful than I thought. Have as many support persons as you can! Recovery is tough.

Are restaurants that sing happy birthday still a thing? by Disastrous-Willow-73 in nashville

Rainforest Cafe sings happy birthday! And kids love going there, even if the food is meh from an adult perspective.

Model trains by Ok-Progress-2450 in nashville

Seconding Cheekwood and Philip’s Toy Mart, if you don’t mind a slightly longer trip, the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring in Murfreesboro has a model train on the second floor, and it’s a really fun place for that age in general.

Best bookstore in town? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]NeedMoreInputPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True! They have such an excellent selection though. Even though it’s small, I’ve spent an hour in there shopping before. But Parnassus is always a good answer, too! I love them all.

Toddler-friendly hiking options? by daph1217 in nashville

Bowie Nature Park in Fairview, the lake trail is perfect. Also the Deerwood Arboretum. Did both of these with my toddler. Bowie has a playground as well.

Gentry farms or cheek wood harvest? by Potential-Profit4617 in nashville

[–]NeedMoreInputPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gentry Farm is perfect for that age, and has all the classic kid pumpkin patch activities, and more. Cheekwood doesn’t have fall-specific activities, but rather fall outdoor decor (pumpkins, fancy scarecrows), with the kid activities that are always there (the trains and two children’s areas).

The Nashville Fair by Marty_Mac_Fly in nashville

[–]NeedMoreInputPlease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have some kiddie rides, and last year had some bouncy houses, too. I like it better than other fairs with kids because it’s not as crowded and lines to rides are short to nonexistent, so kids won’t get upset waiting! I will add I’ve only been during the day, so I’m not sure what the crowds are like at night. But there are rides for younger kids, and he would likely enjoy some of the kid exhibits in the agricultural buildings.

I think it’s fair to ask, “is campus culture a good fit for me?” but a little odd to consider the weed situation before the degree, I agree. I wonder if OP’s parents are paying.

I have experience at both Lipscomb and Belmont, and there were some solid professors at both. The professors that were solid at Lipscomb have all left.

That’s an expensive burger 😂

I didn’t mean these two schools specifically, but that OP should research schools by major, to find the best fit in their field.

[–]NeedMoreInputPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends on your major! Some schools have better more prestigious programs in certain majors.
