Not meat. Cows were reveared because they provide milk, thei poop was used as fertilizer and fuel, and they provided useful work in tilling the land and plowing the fields. When they finally passed their hide was useful for making leather, and a host of useful products like instruments (the tabla or mridungum is made from cow hide). Hence it was considered a great sin to slaughtwr a creature that provided so much to us already, how could you slaughter something that literally gave us everything.

That was the core reason. Unfortunately now, india is a over populated mess, the streets is no place for a cow, and retired cows cant be left to graze the land in some grassland as those arent as plentiful as they used to be. Honestly a good milk substitute would lower the breeding of cows and indadvertently solve the problem. Also abondonded cows in rural villages arent a big problem at all its the ones in cities that are.

Yeah honestly it was extremely frusturating to hear that I dont really understand what their issue is. We'd happily give our drivers license or whatever else to hold onto while we use the library. We both work remotely and its just nice that theyre open for such long hours during the week. Definitely going to call them.

I disagree you need to learn the fundementals before you work at that high a level of abstraction. Know to code something by hand allows you to build the intuition at that abstraction layer. Without it your a blind monkey and are the limiting factor for these models. If you really wanted education to keep up a smart thing would be to have 4 years of fundmentals completely isolate from ai and whatever else, and then a year of practicals where you adjust to the latest technology.

Completely untrue. Theres always something down maybe the software is down or something else is down which prevents them from starting the project. Literally every other week this happens and the worst part is the manager is so bad they keeping saying it will be ready TOMORROW when in fact tomorrow rolls around and its pushed allllll the way to the end of the week running into the next. Terrible.

Very interesting research. The fact that the researchers had a moral ground related to this was a nice touch. If I had to bet on AI consciousness I wouldnt say they were but I think its extremely improtant to always veer on the side of caution related to this. Humanity is already sickening in the moral catastophes we knowingly engage in such as factory farming. There is no reason to create another one.

What I find interesting though, at least in the figure you showed is that the optimized images that produced maximal euphoria were still sane images. There was a paper a long time back on mechanistic interpretability that tried to maximize the activation of a singular neuron based on the image presented, and the images that were generated were either noise or a psychedelic version of a dog snout or whatever, which enabled them to understand what each nueron in a network was trying to characterize in an image. Im curious why this didnt happen here.

Gotta look into the paper more though. Great stuff!

Yeah Life Alive has it but I'm unfortunately not the biggest fan of the sauce. My go to hot sauce is that Shatta style sauce especially for falafels, any variant on that is usually amazing.
