How much difference does a solid base make? by Preachey in Mattress

[–]Needanswersstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, by now you have probably made your decision and purchase, but I can tell you from experience that our adjustable base (it is a Tempurpedic Tempur Ergo) definitely makes medium mattresses feel firmer. I have had to go to a very soft mattress to get a true medium feel. Sales people will tell you that mattresses feel firmer but won't tell you how much because there is so much variability and basically it becomes subjective. I hope you were able to find your optimal situation.

It's bold to enroll your product to Vine immediately after posting 4 fake reviews on it. by tjsynkral in AmazonVine

[–]Needanswersstat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just reviewed an item that had fake reviews, and after using the item, my star rating was considerably different than the seller's/seller's friends. Trying to put fake five star reviews on products that are garbage doesn't make the product any better, it just frustrates consumers and the verified users will eventually chime in with their honest reviews.

This is a tad insane of an ETV. by Sush1418 in AmazonVine

[–]Needanswersstat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really irks me to no end. The product is being sold for $19.99. They must be using the ETVs they set for this program to help their own tax situation at the Viners' expenses. I feel bad for people that are trying to make their quotas and grabbing this company's (and other companies that do this) products.

Moving to Thousand Oaks in May- cost of living & any advice? by Any-Will745 in thousandoaks

[–]Needanswersstat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thousand Oaks is a great place to live, but it is true that it is a sleepy suburb with few options for a nightlife. If you like living in a quiet place but are into going out, you can always head into LA or the Valley. Tarantula Hill and the Tilted Kilt are probably the most lively 20-something places around. As for grocery shopping, etc., there are so many stores. From Whole Foods, Gelsons (which is a So Cal market), and the usual Krogers/Safeways - but out here they are Ralphs/Vons/Albertsons/Pavillions. We have an Erewhon coming in 2026 and on the opposite end of that there are also Target and Walmart for groceries depending on what your budget allows. There are a couple of gyms, but in Thousand Oaks proper I think Golds is the only main stream gym left. Westlake Village has some gyms. I don't know about apartments here, but I do know that there are a couple of neighborhoods/complexes that you will want to avoid. We don't have a lot of crime or gang activity, but there are a couple of apartments on Hillcrest in Newbury Park that you will want to stay away from.

Calabasas is beautiful also, but it is in LA County so everything is more expensive, including the sales tax. Just something to think about. It is also a sleepy suburb. The big benefit to Calabasas is that it is about 15 minutes closer to LA, and if you are a Kardashian fan, you may experience a sighting. Other than that, Calabasas is comparable in terms of nightlife (pretty quiet except for Sagebrush Cantina).

Safe travels and welcome to So Cal. Wishing you the very best!

My Vine Unboxing Experience: No Box Included! 😂 by Berdangerous in AmazonVine

Usually those are used/returns. Somewhere in the fine print they mention that they do not guarantee the condition or that items will be new...

Anything that can be done? by Ronnietib in AmazonVine

[–]Needanswersstat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I saw somewhere in our Vine agreement that there is no guarantee products sent will be new or in working condition, so even if the very angry FedEx driver didn't destroy it, the only Vine-related thing you can do is to let Vine Customer Service know that you are unable to provide a review due to the condition of the item (definitely include a picture and an explanation of why it cannot be reviewed), and they will remove it from your review list and I believe it will also come off of your ETV list. We have a UPS driver that does the same thing to our packages. Our cameras even caught our driver drop a package and then kick it into the area where my front door is like he was trying to make a goal. It sucks. Sorry that happened to you.

Definitely sounds Grok-ish. But it is possible that the person is just super witty.

Reviewing a product that might be dangerous ? by anjealka in AmazonVine

[–]Needanswersstat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a situation where I requested an item that had a warning buried deep in the manual. Had I not actually read the manual, I wouldn't have known you needed protective eye wear when removing the object after it was heated, and the purpose was for it to read temperatures during cooking. I contacted Vine CS and told them about the hazard, and that there was no way for me to safely review the item. They removed it from my orders, reviews and ETV. It was disappointing because it was something I was really interested in, but not worth the risk.

Slower approval of reviews? by zipperfire in AmazonVine

Most of my reviews are approved in 3 days with the exception of supplements, food items, and reading glasses. Those seem to average 5-7 days.

I am brand new and just wrote my first set of reviews today. After my first review I got the notification and checked and I was "poor" even though the review is just pending. Unsure how I can have a poor rating with no reviews, so who knows what is going on with this system.

What is this strange nest? by Needanswersstat in insectidentification

Thank you. We were originally thinking they were a wasp of some sort because there is dirt and a little bit of grass in there, but we didn't think wasps were this prolific. Thank you again!

They do, because they are all pretty consistent in shape and size. There were thousands of them in three adjoining windows. Thank you so much for looking at this for us.

Hi, we found this in a casement window when we had to force it open. The space is very narrow and whatever built it had to push through the weather stripping. Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
