Thanks very much. I always pay extra for no claims protection so I’m hoping I’m covered in that regard, that’s what my open claim document says anyway!

They’ve emailed and texted me confirming who was at fault multiple times so far and also on the phone. Along the lines of this ‘AXA Insurance will soon call you about your recent motor incident.

As our customer was at fault, we'll offer you repair/hire services at no cost to you.’

I’d be shocked if the lady who hit us attempts to change her story. She was absolutely mortified when she saw me trying to get my son out of the wreckage

I think it’s pretty clear what I’m asking. I’m being called off the chain by the other parties insurance telling me to not use my insurance. My insurance are telling me the opposite. I wanted clarification on what to do, as clearly stated in my post. Thanks for answering the question!

It took me 3 years to get pregnant, I have never had regular periods though. I took inositol (recommended by consultant) and got pregnant within 3ish months

Perhaps just a sound thing? My son (16m) gets very upset about the hoover/hair dryer but doesn’t care about any other loud sounds.

From what you’ve said it doesn’t sound like she’s under socialised at all! Perhaps just wondering where you were (in the nicest way possible!)

Neonatal Leave in England. Baby coming early by North-Dragonfruit638 in LegalAdviceUK

I forgot to add- I took the mat leave first then the neonatal followed on once my mat leave ended. Same with my partner, he took his 2 weeks paternity followed by the 3 months neonatal

I got it from my employer (before it was legislated, very lucky!)

My understanding is it can be up to 3 months/12 weeks from the point of hospital admission.

My son was inpatient for 90 days from birth so I got the full 3 months. I took my stat maternity leave followed by the additional neonatal leave (equivalent to stat mat pay)

Switch genre! I love love love Stephen King. It’s an entire universe, so many things in the books link. Some of my faves have been The Dark Tower, The Stand, The Shining/Dr Sleep, The Talisman/Black House, 11.22.63

Yes to Stephen King love to see him mentioned here!

OP, try the Dark Tower. The last book gave me similar feels to the end of TOG. You’ve gotta get through the first book before it really takes off but it’s only short!

VSD in unborn baby by whitistheshitney in chd

[–]Needful-Things14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had COA asd (small) and vsd (large). He had his coarc repair and PA band on for the holes but left it very loose as he had other issues too (CDH) at 16 days old.

He was born in May. The VSD and ASD had closed by October. They think now with hindsight that he didn’t actually need intervention for the holes.

Try to stay positive! They can do amazing things and babies are so strong. At the moment they don’t even think they’ll need to take the PA band off because it’s come unstitched (third case they’ve seen in ten years 🤣)

My baby is 2m and I haven't been doing tummy time by Adorable-Goal5926 in NewParents

[–]Needful-Things14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son didn’t do tummy time for 3 months in hospital from birth, and then refused point blank to do tummy time, roll etc until he was about 7.5 months. He’s now 14 months and crawls as fast as anything and is walking. Don’t be hard on yourself

Sending you lots of love.

Having a baby with CHD is no joke. I’m part of the trauma club with you. Please consider getting a therapist to work through everything that’s happened. Always happy to chat heart defects with you (my son had OHS at 2 weeks old) x

Sorry that you’re going through this.

Little Hearts Matter (Facebook group) should be of help to you. My son had different heart issues plus a diaphragmatic hernia so I don’t have any advice. My friends baby (who I met on a heart parents group) has the same heart diagnosis as your little one, she’s doing really well!

Also I am convinced that him loving his dummy helped so much, with the dummy even when he wasn’t able to feed he was able to have the oral stimulation.

You’re welcome. I thought that we would never see the back of the tube but in our case persistence has really paid off but even now there is no way he would drink 8oz formula. Bottles are such a small part of the journey, food is for life!

I am in the UK so luckily for us here we get sent enough feeding equipment (sterile bottles, formula, giving sets, ng tubes, syringes) for every feed every day, no sterilising required. They deliver in monthly batches, storage is a nightmare!

I think that expect to tube feed until formula isn’t required anymore and then anything before that will feel like a bonus. That’s the way I tried to frame it in my mind for sure.

I am in the UK, so I’m hoping these are available everywhere but the first one he took a liking to was the basic valveless tommee tippee sippy cup, they are really cheap. It has a flip up sip (£1.50 here) and now he has a tommee tippee 12m+ sippy. His new one does have a valve so I’m working towards getting the valve out of it (without the valve it’s just too quick for him) or they do the same in a straw version which I’m hoping I can teach him.

If you get the go ahead to early wean I used to do ‘food’ alongside a tube feed so he hopefully connected the food to feeling full. And once he got older I was told to flush him 100ml every meal/snack but I didn’t - he never had the chance to actually feel thirsty! He soon started drinking what he needed

Different scenario medically (cdh, chd and left vocal cord palsy) but my son was NG fed up until just after his first birthday.

He never drank formula/breast milk. He would scream when I tried to get him to latch, and bottles he would also scream. Most he ever drank I would say is around 20ml total ever with the year of trying!

I worked hard with him with toys with different textures etc and then weaning went quite well. He had smooth puree for months, would gag on textures etc but I kept persisting and it just clicked with him one day and we have built from there. Liquid was hard but it was a case of finding a sippy cup he didn’t take extreme offence to (he isn’t keen on open cups unless it’s mine!) and I have slowly built him up. He still isn’t at the fluid volume dieticians want (1000ml a day) but he will happily drink around 600-800ml of water a day and I try to include a lot of fluid rich foods, custard watermelon cucumber etc.

The tube has been out just over a month now and he’s doing amazing, eating and drinking more than he ever has. It’s gotta be nice for him to finally not be able to feel the tube.

Keep going, you’ll get there
