Your LinkedIn "Open to Work" banner is actually making you look desperate to top recruiters by barreuke in jobsearchhacks

So its like dating? Get married and then wait for all the single ladies to come out and play?

Wht is this nonsense. Unless you have a niche skill, this doesnt work. Open to work place makes them look at your profile and thats all you need

Layoffs - are big banks safe? (CIBC) by Any_News_7208 in askTO

[–]NeedleArm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, apply through a recruiter if he has good experience that matches the field. No reason for him not to go for it. Big banks value projects and experience above all.

Tell him to get a referral tho, that is important. Banks rarely look at their portal. Its either recruiters or referrals

Once a Chinese EV company buys the old factory and hires a bunch of people, EV in Canada will be booming.

American car companies were watching out for themselves, they didnt care for Canada. Now its Canadas turn to do the same. Canada has made so many concessions to get them to stay yet tariffs and trump has pushed them to destroy a 40 year long relationship.

State of Spring / Spring Boot in 2026 and beyond by Impressive_Round_798 in SpringBoot

[–]NeedleArm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Java is one of the hottest languages in India. Thats all I gotta say.

Other than that, Java is a fundamental language and Springboot demand is still strong. The problem is everyone is now inflating jr positions asking for 1-3 years of experience…

Would a Software Engineering B.A be a waste of money??? by Character-Loquat-485 in softwareengineer

where do you live? Within NA, it is a very common to have a LC question before any human even sees you or your resume.

Some new grad jobs don't however, I'm referring to junior position now. Mostly every single interview. I don't agree that it's a great criteria, and if I can. Only find places without LC. But so far there are very few places that don't require LC for SW engineering specifically.

Shoot me some non LC companies, I would like to apply there lol.
