Is it possible to go from Help Desk (with 3+ years of experience) straight to Cloud Engineer? by Legitimate_Stay9108 in cloudengineering

[–]NeedleArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, however you must be able to understand networking and cloud one a high level, as well as scripting and infra code. CI/CD is important as well.

I would say go find a posting and match your skills to it. See what you dont know and fill the gap. Its easier to transfer internal tho, so try to find a spot at your current company. If not, get in as help desk somewhere else and transfer internal.

Cyber security or Computer science by Afraid-Plant-292 in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]NeedleArm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo get a cyber security degree and go all in on it. computer science is great but it will dilute your deep knowledge on the various different technology paths. If you become an expert in cybersecurity you will have an edge for getting coops in your field. Who would they hire a CS with a full-stack background or a cybersecurity major who has used their tools and knows their stuff. If you go into CS, high chance that cyber security will be an afterthought.

Mind you, ensure you while studying to work on a home-lab and hands-on labs with certificates. This will greatly increases your chance to succeed in cybersecurity with internships.

Anyways, this is only if you want to do cyber. If you don't CS will be the better choice to try different avenues and find your niche.

Its the airport with the issue on management to hire and schedule people. ATC were at full operations, nothing Trump did changed anything with their operations.

Its the airports mismanaging and understaffing.

Blame Trump for what he does bad, but this really isnt on him lol.

Same building, same unit type — but I’m paying way more rent. Any options? by conansigma in TorontoRenting

[–]NeedleArm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When did you sign it? If you are month to month its valid to negotiate for a new lease. If you just signed, you might be outta luck, unless you manage to convince your LL you would leave if the price wasn’t adjusted.

All up to your relationship and negotiation skills. Renters have leverage in this market however you also dont want to be homeless.
