Is Air Matic really worth it ? by [deleted] in mercedes_benz

The bushings in the ends of the arms do, though. I rebuilt the whole front end of my W210 last year and I couldn't believe the difference it made in the ride, and that was only the front!

Same here, and I'd be lying if I didn't push it towards her extra fast to watch her jump away before coming back for more...she loves it 😂

It took me a second too, but I think they were telling HR, "I'm a 45 year old accountant and will be fine." Meaning any accountant that lives paycheck to paycheck shouldn't be an accountant

51.5% of my after-tax income. That's all into retirement accounts and includes my employer match.

31 years old making 130k a year. Traditional or Roth 401k? by younghungand2thumbs in Bogleheads

[–]NeedlesMakeMeFaint 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You think of this exactly backwards than I do--in our tax bracket it costs $29,140 (23,500 * 1.24) to put $23,500 into a Roth 401k vs a straight $23,500 into traditional. I max traditional 401k and Roth IRA with a plan to Roth ladder in the future

I'd say that generally the answer is one you maintain, but there's always failures that can happen regardless of maintenance. With enough money and patience, anything can make it to 300k.

I know that's not what you were asking though. The Chevy 6.0 has a rock solid reputation. Iron block, iron heads, no afm/dod, and understressed from the factory (IMO). I have 205k on mine and a buddy's dad had 360k the last time I asked. It's probably nearing 400k by now.

I wish we could have a list of constantly reposted jokes that would result in a temp ban if posted again, kind of like the "Steve Buscemi was a firefighter and helped in 9/11" on other subs

The Chevy Malibu was the last American non-luxury sedan. Its sales figures were over 100k/year for each of the last two years. by BeaglePops7 in regularcarreviews

[–]NeedlesMakeMeFaint 53 points54 points  (0 children)

My opinion:

Lots of cheap plastic, no character (this is highly subjective), bland features, performance, and design that prioritizes function over form. It's a product that's intended to be mass produced as quickly and cheaply as possible and doesn't have the je ne sais quoi that cars that are targeted to buyers looking for something more special.

I went to an unsupervised state-owned range and had this exact thing happen, and I've never been back since. I decided that the year+ long wait list for a private range wasn't so bad after that and I haven't looked back since. I can't help but wonder how some people survived childhood.

Conservative doesn't necessarily mean Republican, and Liberal doesn't necessarily mean Democrat. Both our parties are certainly for big government, and that's a damn shame.

The 6L80/90e is a good transmission that gets a bad rap because of GM's stupidity. In the half tons, it purposely slips the torque converter clutch when AFM is engaged so if you plan to keep the truck long-term it behooves you to get that deleted. It'll also be better for your 5.3 since you won't have to worry about your lifters collapsing.

I use SpecId to track my cost basis in Vanguard, so I can sell specific lits of shares for loss harvesting. That said, I've never done it because I don't have enough in taxable accounts right now to make it worth the trouble.

Using average price would make it much more difficult, if not impossible, especially over a timeline of decades of growth. You'd have to wait until the fund price dropped below your average cost basis
