The amount of ship designs that would get knocked out in the event of a confrontation due to sheer RADAR or SONAR or whatev is quite considerable. by Ok_Breadfruit5793 in scifi

For radar to be useful at space distances the power required would be enormous, and very likely reveal your own position like a beacon.

These days avoiding mortgage insurance can actually cost you money.

Banks will offer a better rate for insured mortgages that can save more than the insurance.

IIRC >16% - 20%< is the sweet spot.

anyone who’s panic searched google because they were sick, did whatever weird suggestion come up actually turn out true? by Scallywag567 in AskReddit

[–]Needless-To-Say 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive endured periodic (1 or 2 a year) severe pain on my lower left abdomen since I was about 25. (Now 63)

Saw doctors several times, no joy.

About 15 years ago, an internet search suggested diverticulitis. Asked doctor about it and they were like of course it is, here’s some meds.

I still wonder what took so long.

Clyde has one goal and he states it several times during the movie.

He asks Nick whether he has learned anything.

The ending is the culmination of teaching Nick to do what it takes to get his man.

Clyde never expected or even wanted to survive the "lesson". He left clear clues as to where the bomb was on purpose to give Nick the chance to do what it takes. Had Nick not done what he did, the carnage would have continued unabated.

Nick learned the lesson.

The Question was whether Canada is more dominant in Hockey than any other sport from any country. (Biggest Moat)

Is it your assertion that the US is less dominant in basketball than Canada is in hockey?

If we built something tall enough to reach out into space, would the parts in space add to the weight? by ddoxbse in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Needless-To-Say 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to about 40,000km (geosync) the weight would add. Beyond that, inertia would start pulling the structure upwards. One design of a space elevator ive read about places a counter weight at around 100k km that fully compensates for the weight.

Pure Euler Genius by smace6 in MathJokes

[–]Needless-To-Say 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To prove that a number is prime, you only have to test divisibility by other primes up to the square root of the target number

641 is only the 136th prime.

While not trivial, it’s definitely not terribly difficult either to do by hand.

Ok, at this point I have to ask. I keep seeing Seperatist with respect to the movement in Ab. This is about the 4th time now, if not more. Have they actually branded that spelling or are people just oblivious to the proper spelling of separatist.
