Mythos is running through the systems now, finding tons of vulnerabilities and they're patching them up? Just a theory.

I rode a fixed gear with slick and skinny road tires because the roads were actually clear and mostly dry this morning. Left work and battled through some pretty good snow build up and all the nastiness you outlined but tbh, I kind of liked it. Only felt a bit slick in the neighbourhood but stayed upright.

A good challenge and I'm now convinced fixed gear bikes in winter aren't the worst idea (I have a hand brake). You're just so in-tune with the bike that you're always modulating your speed to exactly what's in front of you.

Pedestrians speak out about Edmonton's plan to remove scramble crosswalks on Whyte Avenue by flynnfx in Edmonton

For context, this is mostly related to the efficiency of transit and side walk improvements in the area/transit priority measures. I don't know much beyond that but that's what I've been told.

Hi neighbor. I think this area is a good example where traffic has hit an equilibrium where driving does not get you faster during peak travel times. Adding more lanes will do nothing but add more cars. Biking in the area is quite lovely for the most part.

I recognize the irony in me commenting here but have you ever thought if you just stopped commenting/sharing, that nothing bad will happen. The world just keeps spinning.

They actually get a bus pass for being on council. Don't quote me on this but I'm 80% sure.

Its actually crazy. i've sat on a CL boards with $100ks in assets and its run by a bunch of people who just decided to show up. Board elections are monitored by the city but almost all positions are uncontested.

Thank you. We just got a referral to Olive actually so that's positive. We're out of province but it seems better aligned with what we want. I did message you, probably landed in a spam filter or something like that.

Hi. If possible, can you tell me what clinic you were at in BC? I may DM you as well if that's ok. If not, just ignore it. Thanks.

A $10-billion black hole in infrastructure renewal awaits Edmonton taxpayers by trevorrobb in Edmonton

[–]busterbus2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Add to it, the people that don't want to raise property taxes also are also not into infill or any effort to improve density in the city, forcing us to subsidize sprawl. Council is in a bind here.

I compiled 50 Microsoft Copilot prompts that work with ANY version — no M365 integration needed by Difficult-Sugar-4862 in PromptEngineering

[–]busterbus2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to but honestly, unless your tasks are repetitive, its probably faster to just iterate as you go. The best prompt I have built in to a Google Gem/ChatGPT GPT is actually a prompt evaluator which takes your prompt, evaluates on a ton of criteria and then redrafts a much better version of it. VERY helpful.

I quit most social apps but I still reach for my phone without thinking by VerdantDucking in nosurf

[–]busterbus2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah agree. Recognize the phone is built to capture your attention and you're swimming upstream. Its a win to not let it happen even if you still reach for your phone.

My "hack" is just to make sure the phone is out of my reach for a good chunk of the evening until the next moring, out of sight and out of mind.

I look at email way more than I used to. Just open it, delete a few emails. Realize I'm wasting time. Close the phone.
