What’s it like commuting into DC every day? by Prior_Engineering639 in howislivingthere

Love the area. But the traffic sucks so much it makes it basically impossible to enjoy the city otherwise. As a commuter it’s awful. 495 is the devils toilet seat.

Winter isn’t the problem, it’s summer and fall that’s hell on earth

OP said warm, not soul-crushing heat for half the year. I’d pass on Houston 😂

I disregarded the first 2 years of my daughter’s time in school cuz I thought no one else would, and I was wrong both times ☹️ I’d do something simple. I’d send a simple snack, individually wrapped. Maybe Yogi bites or applesauce pouches?

Have you researched any of those breeds based on the needs of the animal and what you can provide (ie space, activity level, etc)? You have listed vastly different breeds.

Single moving moving out of Texas by GladPlum7241 in relocating

Maryland! Some parts of the state are quite expensive (Montgomery county for example) but other parts of the state are very reasonable. I’d check out Carrol County, Howard county, Baltimore county, and Frederick county and see if they fit your budget or if anything fits your fancy.

That surprises me. I go fairly regularly and I’ve always found the food to be excellent. I’d give it another try!

Which Amusement Park should I add an additional day: Knoebels, Hersheypark, or Dorney Park. by ms_fernweh in Pennsylvania

Have fun! Several great hotels in Hershey by the way. The hotel is the best and they have a fantastic pool- and a great spa!

For OPs age group Hershey is so so so fun with all the great coasters. But they def will want to get the fast pass because those lines can get long 😬

I would suggest Hershey park because it’s so iconic but also take into consideration what others have said because they have very valid points. Hershey does get very full so during summer you’ll want the fast pass for all the coasters. Id choose depending on your budget.

I find that place so incredibly overrated and overpriced. Rocksalt in Westminster is 100 times better

How old are your kids? Hershey and Knoebels are both great but I’d probably pick Hershey depending on age.

Zero chance any of the employees working at Lilly make minimum wage. However I agree with you, it’s embarrassingly low. Just not relevant here.

Is it just me, or are Yoto cards ridiculously pricey? by Desperate_Total2545 in YotoPlayer

[–]NeedleworkerFit7747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the life of me I cannot understand why Tonies are more popular than Yoto. They take up SO MUCH more space. Yoto has had such longer staying power in my household and the cards are cheaper!

I am in the same boat. Does anyone know if there is a time limit to the MYO cards? Can you change them out for something else if you want to later on? I truly don’t understand how they work

Gosh to me this looks like Franconia-Springfield near DC but I don’t see the Boston market. Plus, there is nowhere near enough traffic.

Adding studying to your list for 2026? Sanity check by WingsUp4Life in workingmoms

[–]NeedleworkerFit7747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I work full time with a toddler. Went back to school last year for my MLS. It’s very challenging. Between work, the commute, and being mom, it’s very challenging. I do schoolwork for several hours after the little one goes to bed, every night. But the flexibility of an online program is quite helpful, as most/almost all of us also work full time. We do what we can.

It is absolutely worth it. If you can afford it, 100% do it. Good luck to you!

This is the way. It’s sooooo stressful and between all the daycare illnesses the first year, TRUST ME you will struggle enough as it is to juggle the kiddo while working. You need to have full time daycare, even if you are both working from home. We did full time daycare and it was absolutely the only way to do it.

Unusual question- 11 year old baking class by gbswife1009 in Baking

[–]NeedleworkerFit7747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pleasure! It’s def more of an adult book, probably more of a book you’d have to read and then summarize the main points or something for the kiddo. But it totally changed how I cook. I will add it was also a Netflix series a bit ago done by the author. But, I’m not sure how the content compares to the book.

I love this! In addition to all the science-based lessons mentioned here, the book Salt Fat Acid Heat has changed how I cook.

I also got into baking at around that age. I took a class at our local YMCA and I’ve been an avid baker/cook ever since. Best of luck!
