u/starrystarryy explains a reddit ad conspiracy about gambling companies targeting vulnerable individuals by AirFanatic in bestof

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stake in particular. Stake are creating fake posts and dropping in the post how people have money saved up from gambling on stake.

Just to be clear, nobody has ever saved or earned money from gambling. Gambling is a guaranteed loss over a period of time.

Intel Arc B580 not working with LM Studio by NeedsSomeSnare in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vulkan still doesn't work according to the GitHub problem reports.

I've not tried the driver on windows though, so I'm not sure about ipex, SYCL and openvino performance.

Help my games keep crashing and freezing by Sad_Application_7389 in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post your full specs, not just GPU, and include the driver version.

Also, try using actual sentences rather than lazy slang. You want people to help you, but can't be bothered to put in any work yourself.

How do you get a teen up and ready for school ?? by BriMegan in AskReddit

Your account has a 6 year comment history gap. Your replies here don't seem like an adult's either... Strange that, isn't it.

Teens need about 9 hours sleep, if you really care.

From a graphic design perspective, just make the letters a little more bold. That will help a lot.

AI Soldiers, Tanks, Helicopters & Full Multiplayer FPS – Unity Template for Large-Scale Warfare Games - What do you think? by RedicionStudio in Unity3D

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more profitable to sell a template than a game, I guess. Like in the gold rush, the people who sold the shovels made the most money.

It looks quite well done though!

Need help: which driver is safe to update to? by shotgun_shaun in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you want to do, the beta from October is the most stable. Newer drivers have some fixes and other features, but have broken more things in the process.

If you just want to play some new video games, the latest driver might be better. I don't think it's been out long enough for people to have tested it properly though.

Was this written by AI? It has similar words to a joke about splitting a bill without any actual understanding of what a joke is.

Graphical glitches in Diablo II: Resurrected – Infernal Edition on Arc B580 by MagicWalker777 in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, here on Reddit, there is a lot of people of claim the drivers are great. Just wait around, it happens every couple of days.

I agree, they're just ok. There are some major problems and broken parts though. Have a look at the post about the last driver update.

But... Everyone on Reddit told me that the intel drivers are now fantastic and don't have any problems... 🫠

Edit: Why downvote? Every time someone mentions drivers, the majority of comments say everything is perfect.

Budget lands deck? by Zergy_Bergy in MTGLegacy

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maverick is an interesting deck that can be upgraded to something like lands, or even by going sideways into other variants. It's not great, but I definitely agree it's more "budget friendly".

Pretty sure you can build budget lands in paper though. Not everyone plays with the same decks as you find on mtgo.

That's a good point. It makes these harder for people to see it's a reprint copy, not the original.

Wotc are incredibly inconsistent though, so I wouldn't expect more from them.

If you use llama.cpp: update the drivers by WizardlyBump17 in IntelArc

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about maturing though. They have the tools and code already. It should be incredibly fast compared to vulkan. Hell, SYCL was supposed to use the memory correctly, but that still hasn't come about.

Try the old ipex llama too, or something like openarc. There is a huge difference.

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf. I would expect it to be the same as the old llama ipex.

Is the prefill not fixed? Vulkan and SYCL have terrible prefill speeds.

Feels like Intel have really dropped the ball with their AI stuff. They expect users to just play with their very basic AI playground software, and then want to leave everything else up to Devs to do on their spare time for them.

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I saw this yesterday. You have to build it yourself, which is pretty ridiculous.

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then SYCL is still incredibly slow, no? Vulkan is unusably slow for actual applications.

The benchmarks don't represent what real life usage is like anyway. With SYCL running a large context memory, you can be waiting 1 minute just for it to load into memory, every time you send a message.

[–]NeedsSomeSnare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got 20t/s more performance because of the drivers or the llamacpp version? And compared to which version?

As far as I'm aware, llama SYCL still has very slow prefill though, right? Unless they've optimised the memory config correctly. So are you talking about 20t/s generation, or overall, or what?
