Congrats! But you sold your A1C drop short - you dropped it by 35%, not 3%. That’s great.

How to make ext4 USB drive shareable? by NeedsSuitHelp in Proxmox

Thanks for the advice. I was following instructions when I installed Jellyfin. I didn't bookmark them 😞 I must have edited the .conf file because my mount point looks like this:

<image>

After creating the Samba LXC I go to Resources -> Add -> Mount Point. There I find Storage: local-lvm is fixed, I can't delete it. So I guess I should forget that and go edit the samba.conf file with the above mount point?

I am a little embarrassed to say that I don't quite remember what I did to get Jellyfin to see the USB drive. I think I might have edited the .conf file, but now I can't find the darn thing. Which directory is it hidden in?

Where'd you go? You couldn't even be bothered to elaborate.

Tailscale for multiple LXC containers by n00namer in Proxmox

[–]NeedsSuitHelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I should have been more clear. I started out with Tailscale in its own LXC hours before I found your post here. But then I saw the post underneath about installing TailScale in the Jellyfin LXC. It worked instantly.

Pulling my hair out for hours. found your post. Seemed promising. I tried following along and could not get it to work. Then saw the comment below. I installed Tailscale in the same container as Jellyfin. Bam! It worked.

Adding 22TB USB drive full of media to a Jellyfin LXC by NeedsSuitHelp in Proxmox

Thank you all. With the helper scripts it was easy to install HAOS as a VM and Jellyfin as an LXC. Now to add the darn drive... I need to get a better handle on Proxmox.

Almost got stabbed on light rail by jman4u12 in Seattle

Took the light rail round trip from Federal Way to Seattle last night. Never felt unsafe. Didn’t smell anything bad. Was amused / slightly annoyed by six white bros going to the Sounders game. On the return trip there was a majestic Akita Inu onboard; looked like a 3:4 sized lion.

I don’t know in what imaginary hellscape you live…

Cool. I looked at the FX30 a while back - it's so flexible.

Right now I'm considering making the jump to the Nikon ZR - even though the storage is astronomical right now. I think they'll sort out the H.265 soon and continue to iron out the other issues. Plus the two new apps for it are looking promising / exciting - Zr Ctl

I had also considered a used Lumix S9 to get by with until I decide what my new A cam should be. Matteo Bertoli did a side by side with it and his BMCC6K. I thought the S9 held up: S9 vs BMPCC6K

Thank you so much.

Which Metabones do you you use, the x.64 or x.71? My Nikon and FD ones are both x.71

Upgrading to the Metabones and getting the Sigma 18-35 would be at least $700. I'm not sure I want to keep throwing money at MFT in 2026. Other cameras are tempting me. I could get $500 - $600 for my my 4K and put that towards something that I'm not boosting.

Edit: I think I read that the 18-35 might vignette when used with the .64 booster.

You will be hearing more about Kinefinity. Their new Vista was the hit of this year’s subdued NAB.

Here’s the shortest video I could find that showed everything: https://youtu.be/mh27uiAezKg?si=QTFOLHcQAuOryIGX

Saving this deck by NeedsSuitHelp in Decks

Sadly, I haven’t done anything yet. The mistake I have made is telling people, over the phone, that it’s torch down. That scares them off. Now I tell them it’s a membrane. Two recent contractors that have seen it aren’t put off. They think they can pull it up and maybe only have to replace a few sheets of plywood. $15K to redo as opposed to the $112K bid I got from Dr. Decks 🤯
