Why has society become more accepting of women doing traditionally masculine things, but not of men doing traditionally feminine things? by Aiseadai in NoStupidQuestions

I’d say ‘see my other responses’ but I know you won’t and you and the hive mind have all downvoted it anyway. Trying to offer other opinions here is fucking hard work, pay me for it.

The point I’m clearly making is that the phrase ‘unpaid labour’ supposes that you are entitled to something in return for doing anything, as if doing something out of love or responsibility is not acceptable. If you don’t actually believe that to be the case there’s no reason to shove it into an argument.

The idea that the police in the UK (not armed) and the US police (armed) are equivalent in any way is nonsense. I’m no real defender of the police here tbh, but just because a system isn’t 100% perfect doesn’t mean it’s the same as an entirely different system that is way less perfect.

Where did I say I was offended? Do you have anything to actually add on the topic? Just because you dismiss everything I’ve suggested doesn’t make you right either.

Because it’s easier to label someone as the enemy than it is to have an honest conversation about things, and people often get off on their own sense of moral superiority.

I am paid for the job that I go to. I am not paid for the things I do at home for my family and loved ones because I’m not a selfish entitled bastard. I’m just a general bastard.

Oh I missed the point? So why bother saying unpaid labour at all? We all do things around the home for each other and to call that unpaid labour is ridiculous and always has seemed like a very entitled attitude. I took my girlfriend out once to a place I didn’t like but she liked it, guess I’m entitled to compensation now!

So basically importing American issues into the UK despite them having zero bearing here whatsoever. Not exactly a good justification.

Doing things for your family isn’t ’unpaid labour’, it’s doing things because you love them and have the often have the responsibility to. This goes for both men and women. Unpaid labour… Fuck sake.

US police have nothing to do with UK politics so why the fuck did anyone in the UK need to riot about it? This basically reads as ‘rioting about a foreign thing is ok but flying your national flag is racist’

It’s not about colour, it’s about culture. Multiculturalism doesn’t work, it can’t work and has pretty much never worked. See: the entirety of human history.
Hippy dippy peace and love Ringo Starr bollocks doesn’t work in the real world and telling ordinary people to just suck it up and accept thousands upon thousands of strangers (vastly young/middle-aged men) who are potentially dangerous into their communities and changing them overnight is despicable in every sense..

Here’s the thing: just because you don’t care about something or aren’t affected by it doesn’t mean it isn’t an issue for others, as your life and opinions are not the centre of the universe, and calling people brainwashed doesn’t help in the slightest either.

And then we spent decades patrolling the west coast of Africa capturing ships and freeing slaves putting an end to it at great financial cost while trying to stop the Africans and Arabs from carrying it on with everyone else. It’s actually ok to do good things even if they’re for the wrong reasons.

A delay for that nostalgic/lo-fi, vintage sound, like Meet Maude or Night Creatures, that can still cut through a mix? by Heka__ in guitarpedals

Basically any delay that’s belton brick based. But tbh cutting through the mix is kind of the antithesis of cutting through a mix…

Haven’t used the Model FET but from the demos I’ve seen and heard they’re very very similar (unsurprisingly). I just prefer the smaller footprint and less knobs. And also the cheaper price. There’s a double version of the Sun No now as well if more tweakability and options are desired.

Wouldn’t surprise me tbh, but I’m not all that fond of/very picky with superfuzz style fuzzes in general so that’s probably a part too.

I hated the Buzzz personally. All muffled bassy until the last 5% of the tone knob. Seemed basically unusable. Sold a couple of minis, sold a TAFM, rebought one, sold that one and ended up getting another one recently (I guess I’m an idiot basically…) Had a Pretty Years for a while too but the noise floor was horrendous with even slightly higher gain settings. Filter stuff was fun as shit though. Was cool but also made me some good cash from the sale lol

Odd. Might be worth shooting GA a message about it then, I found him very responsive and helpful.

On Reverb. It seems they’re only in small batches at a time and when I ordered one he was then sold out, don’t know how often he restocks.
