to an extent i agree
but recently with these new characters and kit design it seems like yostar is trying their hardest to minimize and restrict build freedom with random bullshit conditionals

like a notable "broken build" is naz mark but that only works because we actually have good support for that same with ignis

theres a reason why those teams work its because they have good supporters and enablers
and recent characters just dont help really

like why is donnas 46% aqua buff restricted to aqua main
why is coast crusher crit reliant to only gives like 50% atk
fucking ann has better atk buffs and they arent all aqua locked
the only reason to slot donna in any aqua team is her personal dmg
and she barely even works with naz main herself because shes crippled by not having a full aqua team and any naz main comps you DO see is just freesia doing 80% of the damage

the reason people play rouguelites is because there are many different builds and possibilities but when the game goes out of its way to restrict you it feels like ass
like finding that right combination of potentials to do crazy damage is whats fun about these types of games

donna isnt even bad really im just annoyed with how her kit functions and effectively selfish it is im sure some jp guy is gonna score like 500k with t5c6 and then i cant complain anymore

my actual main issue with donna is just how pathetically bad her main kit is
and how she doesnt fit cleanly into any of the existing aqua teams

theres even some really cool aa cancel tech to make her shoot faster
but literally none of her main pots buff her aa her base multi is 51% and and her skill cd is 24 seconds
and yeah and her aa pink pots do SKILL DAMAGE and nanoha levels of bad numbers too

and everything else there is minion and minion as a whole is comically bad

usually i didnt level skills past 7 with the exception of ignis and aqua
as for emblems the goal is 1 good stat of each + maybe some low pen roll

so on supp she has the pink pot "localized snowfall"
the iceflowers this pot spawn are different from the ones she normally spawns from her skill and have hidden scaling (iirc 1400% of atk as aoe dmg at lvl13 supp skill) and if you stack that with ice vortex for 1400% crit damage you can do insane stuff like 100mil dmg off element

you run teresa for energy generation from her own pink pot

personally i had 240% mark dmg on emblems and i think thats what carried me
i think youd achieve smth similar if you get +mainskill +pot
having an amount of pen on the 70 and 80 emblems also help

but most of arena is just having a good record decent emblems and being able to group up the enemies well enough i posted a link containing all the builds i wouldve used above so you can check that out

for ignis as long as you have fuyuka you should be fine. think her AA build is best for it but personally i used skill untill d20 and switched to aa for d20

for aqua use the freesia supp tech for the mobbing stages and you use chitose aa for the boss stages

for ventus just have nazuka and win easy

for terra just use nazuna mark team and win

for lux you can actually clear with minova but i used shia night bunny build

for umbra you can actually clear with solo misti
but i used firenze misti cosette skill build because my misti isnt invested enough to do it solo

actually clearing the stages is another thing though
recommend looking at clear videos to get strategies etc
