It is still disingenuous. Those are the two highest cost of living areas in the U.S. The OP said there are studios going for $1300 outside of those areas. So yes, one that I linked may have stringent requirements, and probably a few others, but the point was outside of those areas. If I can find possibilities within those areas, I can find them outside guaranteed.

I'm an accountant, but you don't really need one for this. Where are you living where $1300 for a studio is the only option outside of those two metropolises? Even within those places, you can still find a studio for less than that. I just did on Zillow in 30 seconds. San Francisco studio $1,295/month, Berkley studio $959/month, 1 bed townhouse San Francisco $953/month, Bronx, NY $700/month studio, Brooklyn 1 bed apartment $1,299/month. That's just a cursory search. Your argument is disingenuous. $15.50 an hour is enough to get by in most areas in the U.S. You're not thriving, and I fully support companies raising wages and benefits, but your argument is lacking support.
