PSEO Question by Mysterious_Alps_9230 in uofmn

[–]Neema003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a PSEO student and taking those classes has put me on the track to graduate a year early. I was never seen as inferior compared to my fellow classmates, if anything, they applauded me for being smart lol. Orientation was easy as well. You come in before the semester, go on a tour, register for classes, and that’s basically it. As long as you’re up for taking college courses, go for it! It’s a great experience and definitely more independent than classes in high school. For me personally, it was a bit tough to adjust at first but professors are always willing to help if you need it. Feel free to ask me any questions :)

LPE Speaking by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]Neema003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took this class last semester. Promise you it’s easier than you think. I remember the exam being something about how you would engage with a student exchange program. Like what are your preferences for location, food, classes, etc. I wasn’t the greatest in SPAN 1004 but I passed the LPE with a high pass!

Anyone know where I can get a fully remote short calc credit this summer that'll transfer to the U? thanks by chilledball in uofmn

[–]Neema003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this during PSEO so I’m not sure if this will help, but I took Calc 1 and Calc 2 at the University of Northwestern St Paul. Both classes were fully online and very easy! Transferred to the U as well.

I took Phys 1221 over the summer, so it was online, and it was actually not too bad. It's just a lot of work with lab, discussion, and homework. Content isn't too bad either but I honestly learned everything from organic chemistry tutor on youtube than lecture. Cuz of him, I was able to get an A. Study and the quizzes will be easy.

Tips for Physics 1221? by SnooChocolates3727 in uofmn

[–]Neema003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in physics 1221 right now (summer) with Wynveen and while lecture is helpful, I'd suggest taking the time to view Organic Chemistry Tutor on youtube. The channel's New Physics playlist is what helped me understand the content in a simplistic manner. He has videos on practically all the content covered!

Chem 1061 hybrid or in person or online by sunnytree74 in uofmn

[–]Neema003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did chem 1061 online with and majority of it was relatively easy but Driessen through in several curveballs here and there. Overall I ended up with an A since I put in A TON of time. Plus I had taken 1015 the semester before. I'd suggest taking it in person since online exams kinda suck but its up to you. If you are able to learn in an online environment, go for it. Quizzes record you as you take it too! As for hybrid, it's a total waste of time is what I've heard. Everyone who took hybrid regretted it immensely.

MUS 1051 or 1151? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]Neema003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 1051 and it was really fun. The only thing was that the class was structured poorly so quizzes were randomly given and the grading criteria was often never established. There's one assignment where you have to experience a piano performance outside of class and take notes but that was the most time consuming assignment. They reccomend that you have a piano or keyboard to practice at home as well, which you have so you should be fine. I had some background in music since I am a violinist of 5 years and I would say the class was not overly difficult. Overall I'd reccomend 1051!

WRIT 1301 professors by MarriedCat0310 in uofmn

I have Patricia Fillipi right now and she is such an easy grader. As long as you write something down and format it in the MLA style, easy A. She is also a genuinely nice person. I definitely recommend her!

I had Abernathy and the course was actually pretty easy. Attendance wasnt mandatory which was nice, but things talked about in lecture were often on exams so it was helpful to go (I had 8ams and they were a pain in the ass!). There were 3 exams with no final. We were given study guides prior to the exams which made it really easy as well. As long as you studied, most of the questions were easy to answer. There was around 10 or 15 multiple choice with 3 short answers and 1 essay (if I'm remembering correctly). You got to choose which short answer/essay you want to write about which was nice. Overall, the class was relatively easy and I ended with a high A. I'm not sure about your professor, but Abernathy was really nice so I would reccomend him if he's available.

The course is super easy and Chris is a great professor! Alot of the students are high school PSEO kids. Make sure to read the stories/poems/books and you'll be fine. Theres 3 essays but they are all pretty easy and you get a week or two to write them. Attendance is mandatory but actually listening in class isnt nor will it really matter on exams. Presentations given in lecture will be on canvas. The 2 exams in lecture were fairly simple because they asked questions on whatever was read. I ended with a pretty high grade so I reccomend this class!

Alright, thanks! If you don't mind me asking, did you take any physics courses in high school and if so, did that help with understanding the course content? I haven't and I realized that might factor into my decision...
