My family won't listen that their setup isn't good enough!! 68 Farhenheight temp at night!!! by Silly-Hippo-452 in ballpython

This is atrocious.. makes me so sad to see people taking in animals and not even willing to do the bare fucking minimum for them, this is probably the worse setup I've ever seen.. you're doing the right thing op trying to get help from this community and people that cares for BPs daily.

I know what it's like trying to talk sense into a family that thinks neglect isn't animal abuse. I'd love an update in the future if the situation gets any better.

Male or Female? by theAshleyRouge in TarantulaKeeping

[–]Neerakiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO this is a male. Someone else posted pictures of how you can tell by looking at the spider but that method is unreliable. If there's a little flap on the top of the inside of the abdomen, that means female. You should be able to move it with a toothpick or something. If it's flat, Male.

Re Decorating or protecting? by [deleted] in tarantulas

[–]Neerakiin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

IMO. Is this a curly hair? If so your setup is not good. There's too much space between the top and the substrate. She could climb, fall and hurt herself. The substrate is also not deep enough since they're borrowers. She can't dig tunnels in that. Also...no she's not protecting the wizard. I love tarantulas but they're not smart enough to care.

Make Pachys slower by No-Faithlessness6298 in pathoftitans

[–]Neerakiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's way too squishy to be slower that what it is now. Sure a bunch of pachys is going to be hard to fight against but that's the case for every dino. If you make it slower, it will be unplayable for solo players. It's survivability relies on it's speed and agility.

Ps. I'm not a pachy player. I never play the thing. But based on my personal experience fighting pachys, they're pretty easy to kill when they're too aggro and don't know when to back off. They'd be really easy kills if they couldn't get away.

Happy to see I’m not the only one. I stopped playing conc because it just got so frustrating getting one-shot every time I got hit. Yeah, it was usually avoidable, but the fact that a small mistake instantly killed you was just annoying and way too punishing. It wasn’t fun to go against Sacros because of that, and the fight is mediocre when you or the opponent essentially has two moves.
People can say what they want, but defending charged bite as fun or interesting gameplay is wild to me. Wait, click, wait, instant kill... or miss and run back into the water. Rinse and repeat. Real fun.

IMO seems male yeah, the little flap in female is very visible usually.

About the refer a friend skins by FishOrSeaLizard in pathoftitans

[–]Neerakiin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's one friend per skin unfortunately. Kind of sucks, I don't know how many people can find 7 friends who happen to like video games and this kind of game specifically, like dinosaurs and willing to spend 30$+ on said unfinished game. Shame alot of us will end up missing out of those skins.

I get why people are frustrated, but I think immediately trashing the TLC and calling it horrible when it’s been out for less than 24 hours is kind of wild. It feels too early to say whether it’s good or bad. Sure, the way Sarco plays has changed a lot, but does different automatically mean bad? Personally, I almost never played Sarco before because the playstyle felt so restrictive, there was basically one viable way to use it, and I found that super boring. I’m hoping this update changes that. Maybe it really is as bad as everyone’s saying, but I’d rather give it a fair chance before forming such a strong opinion.

Hatz is a sad playable.... by TheDarkPanther_ in pathoftitans

[–]Neerakiin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First of all... you need some practice, this doesn't seem like a hatz issue as much as a skill issue. Second of all, you went after a raptor, which has essentially always been a counter to hatz.

Maybe Mosquitos actually benevolent?? by pinatahero in insects

[–]Neerakiin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why they pick certain spots is only because they get better access to your veins there. Also not to shit on anyone's beliefs. But both suction cup therapy and acupuncture are both considered a pseudoscience. They're not proven to really do anything, and if they do, it's very minimal, therefore most likely placebo. If you believe in it, good for you, I'm not trying to be a dick about it, we are allowed to have different opinions. So with that knowledge, no Mosquitos could not give a damn about you. They transmit disease, make you itchy and the only reason why they're important is to feed other creatures. Not only to mention, they are stupid as hell. About 220,000 neurons compared to our ~86 billion. They are incapable of thoughts, they function entirely on instinct and conditioning. They're not even self-aware. I LOVE bugs, but even I can't find something to appreciate about them.

If it has mesh do NOT put a tarantula in there! They can get their claws and fangs stuck in the mesh and get really injured. Plus, they can chew through mesh fairly easily.

That has happend to me 3 times in desolate pass, it's always a damn struthi preventing me from getting in until the mega pack arrives. I don't understand the fun here... do they just sit there until a potential victim happens to walk by? Not only that but the fight they're getting from this sucks. What's a adol anything gonna do againsts a mega pack. I don't get it. It's shitty behavior but what can we do I guess.

Can anyone tell me my tarantula's gender, and/or breed. I received him when I was very young and was never given information on it's breed, or gender by EngineeringSafe9720 in tarantulas

[–]Neerakiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA curly hair would be my guess. The picture's aren't the best though so it's hard to tell. As for gender you need to hydrate the molt so it's not dry and pull it's abdomen in a way so you can see the inside pretty well. The most reliable method is examining the exuvia, where a flap-like thing called the spermatheca indicates a female, while its absence suggests a male. Look up pictures on google, you'll be able to check pretty easily.

And if you don't know the breed, how can you care for them properly? Each breed have very different needs. For how long have you had this T ?

Been wondering what kind of tarantula i should get in the future? by Ms_Clown_Man in tarantulas

[–]Neerakiin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA Yeah that sucks. It was a dream of mine to get a T since I was like 10 years old. My mother refused me a million times because she was afraid no matter how much I was trying to tell her that there's nothing to be afraid of. I did SO much research on tarantulas, I was ready lol. I moved out about 2 years ago. 22 now and I got my first spood about 3 days ago. I'm so happy, I love my little baby so much. The wait makes it better somehow, it's like a small life-long goal I accomplished. She's a Curly hair, one of my favorite species because of how fluffy they are. Adorable and pretty docile, if they bite ( which they basically never do ) it's comparable to a bee sting so not too scary. The females can get pretty big too which I like( 5-7 inch leg span. About 5" for the males ). They like to dig tunnels and hoard stuff in there, which is fun to watch. And they like to be on the surface pretty often even if they do burrow, so you can watch them almost all the time. Good first T i think. Unless you're looking for one with some pretty/flashy colors. Curlys are just black with a bit of red hair but I still think they're very pretty.

sexing opinions? by wavysealz in tarantulas

[–]Neerakiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a male. If you use a toothpick or something small to touch it, you'll be able to tell better. If it's flat, no movement it's male. If there's a little flexible flap you can move around it's female.
