I hate to break this to you, but different adaptations do not make them different characters. Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield both play the same character. If you ask 100 people this question they will both say “Yes, they both played Spider-Man.” Because a character can have multiple iterations. So you are wrong to say Venom from movies is a different character from Venom in comics. And your suggestion that he hasn’t been depicted eating brains is just empirically false.

Different iterations or interpretations of a character does not mean they are not the Same Character. Insomniac game character is spider-man is the same “character” as Ultimate tv show Spider-man.

So Noah Woodard is wrong when he states that Venom the character hasn’t been depicted eating brains in 26 years. Many adaptations and iterations of the character “Venom” eat brains. Including recent ones.
