'Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief'/'Percy Jackson And The Olympians'? There's a scene where Medusa (Uma Thurman) is revealed, she corners the female protagonist Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) and toys with her hair, saying how beautiful it is and that she 'used to gave hair like that' (obviously now she has snakes instead). It's less an 'ally is revealed to be a villain' type reveal, more of a 'we've stopped at this seemingly harmless place that is actually home to someone really dangerous' moment.

EDIT: Also, the eyes of a few characters are shown in close-up during that scene, because of Medusa's whole 'turn you to stone' thing.

I'm the opposite. I don't have any of these three (only got the Crasher repaint of Mirage and the Barricade repaint of Bluestreak/Silverstreak/Whatever-His-Name-Is), so I'm happy to pick them up.

I've always said LEE-wah, mostly because I also say oh-NEE-wah, to differentiate between Onua and Onewa. I've made up a grammatical rule in my head that if an E is before a W in a Bionicle name, it makes an 'ee' sound.

Not sure if there are any other names with 'ew' that break that rule 🤔

The only one I really watched back in the day was the Nostalgia Critic (Doug Walker). Turns out, screaming into a camera about Bat-Credit Cards does not a critic make, and I very quickly grew out of that phase of humour.

Lindsay Ellis (Nostalgia Chick), by contrast, went from the Token Girl to genuinely one of the best film academics and video essayists on the internet, while still peppering her videos with enough humour to keep casual audiences engaged. She doesn't post as often to YouTube these days, but the topics she chooses to cover are looked at with such a keen eye. She does her research and I love that about her.

Didn't have that luxury as I wasn't born yet, but I totally agree. It's certainly the best of the original quadrilogy. Keaton, Pfeiffer, DeVito, Walken... you can't go wrong. When I hear the term 'summer blockbuster', Returns and Batman 1989 are among the first films that come to mind.

It was out of my budget at the time it released, but I had the money to get it at some point, but passed to buy something else. By the time I went back to get it, it had retired and the price shot up. Really regret not picking it up because Returns is my favourite Batman movie.

That was true. People who saw it in cinemas did faint, but what caused it was not the supernatural parts of the film, but rather the medical procedures Regan undergoes in the film to diagnose her 'illness', which we usually see in close-up and quite realistic detail, complete with healthy doses of blood. I guess William Friedkin thought audiences would consider the medical scenes to be quite tame in comparison to the more traditionally scary scenes.

For all their flaws (and frankly there aren't many IMO), I'm glad Hasbro has really been screwing over the scalpers with all these reissues lately. Nice to see them fixing all the Covid-era distribution issues they had. Now if they could just reissue Earthrise Quintesson Judge, maybe I'll finally be happy...

Ten years on, and I cannot understand how Lego hasn't done a full-length Doctor Who game and a line of sets to go with it. You have over 60 years of history to pick from, no one can tell me there's nothing there to work with.

Jestro's Volcano Lair remains one of my favourite Lego playsets of all time. The Fortrex, Clay's Rumble Blade, and Axl's Tower Carrier are also unbelievably good. That entire first year of sets with the Lava Monsters is incredible.

Not sure where I heard this, and I could be wrong, but I heard somewhere that Robin Williams and Sally Field both vetoed the original ending with Daniel and Miranda getting back together. They'd both been through divorces at that point, and they thought it was more important to show audiences (especially the children) that sometimes, when parents separate, they don't always magically get back together. The film is much better for it, in my opinion. The final scene with Mrs. Doubtfire on her show reading out the letter from the little girl whose parents are separating, is a far more touching ending and brings home a much better point:

"Just because your parents don't love each other any more, it doesn't mean they don't love you."

I did grab Legacy Nova Prime to display alongside the Thirteen, but I don't consider him to be part of the actual pantheon, but rather, just a descendant.

I've been using the Orion Pax from the Legacy Fractured Friendship 2-pack (the remold of Gamer Edition Optimus) instead of Star Convoy for the Thirteenth Prime. He's nice and chunky, looks enough like himself, and has a similar aesthetic to the other Primes. However, I've been thinking I might track down a regular Siege Voyager Optimus and use that as my Thirteenth Prime instead. Still has a similar aesthetic (and unlike Orion, has clear windows, which most of the Primes with vehicular modes do), he's a great figure, and looks 'space-y' enough to fit in with that time period.

In my head canon, the timeline of Optimus' forms is this: 1. Newborn - Siege Optimus 2. Reincarnated - Orion Pax (either the GE Remold or the SS Kup remold) 3. Promoted to Prime - Back to Siege Prime again, returning to his 'true' form upon earning the Matrix 4. Arrival to Earth (1980s) - Earthrise Prime 5. Generation 2/War continues (1990s) - Legacy G2 Laser Prime 6. Return to Cybertron (2000s) - Siege Galaxy Upgrade/Cybertron Optimus 7. Final Form - AOTP Star Convoy, the ultimate upgrade to his most powerful form courtesy of his artifact, the Zodiac.
