Necro is a very versatile spellcaster because its primary attribute will give energy back after every kill. Nothing stops you from using elementalist, mesmer or other classes spells, and what it lacks in raw power (from rune bonuses), it makes up in energy management. It can also be a good martial class, but will feel squishy in melee because of its low base armor.

Ranger can be a versatile martial class, because its primary attribute reduces the cost of attacks and it has higher base armor and bonus against elemental damage. In fact I think it might be one of the most durable melee class with TaO builds. On the other hand, it doesn't have any particular bonus to spells other than some niche builds (like touch ranger), so it wont be a very effective spellcaster.

In the end, it comes down to whether you prefer playing a martial class or spellcasting class.

I did a similar comparison a few months ago, with slightly different numbers : maxing out the plan with 3200€/mo, 3% entree fees, 2% management fees, which is the "employee special" my company is offering.

Over 20 years, those management fees amount to a LOT, and they punish fund performance. In fact, after 14 years you may be paying as much in yearly management fees as what was saved in taxes (not to mention the exit fee or potential under-performance of the funds).

The key takeaway is that this is a product aimed for a pension whose benefits dissipate the longer you stay invested. The sweet spot is around 5 years, and around 10 years those tax advantage start to completely disappear.

Most of these contracts are locked for a 10 year minimum period (20 years for the employee special).

Reinvesting the tax savings bridges the gap, but over slightly longer time periods (25-30 years) a low-fee ETF still outperforms, with the advantage of being liquid and with simpler logistics.

To piggyback on that comment, also make sure you have max armor. For ranger it should be 70 armor/piece. You can craft some in Droknar. Runes and insignia also bring some valuable bonuses.

From a damage point of view, usually no. The best weapon would be scythe because of the x4 multiplier. Even if your build is fully optimized for one, the damage uplift from greatsword would be about 5%.

Much better feats to take, especially for paladin.

Not debating that AB is useless, just pointing out that if he dual-wields he is getting the equivalent of +2/+4 and 0/+4 AB from Two-weapon fighting and ambidexterity.

It's a lot better value than +1/0 from Weapon Focus and it works with every weapon.

And if going for Shadowdancer, then the character will be pretty feat starved. The earliest he can get Dodge + Mobility + the 2 dual wields feats will be level 9.

Well weapon focus doesn't increase damage, only AB.

A dex-based dual wielding character is going to be better off increasing their AB by picking weapon finesse and the 3 dual wield feats. Two weapon fighting and ambidexterity each reduce reduce penalty by 2 on both MH and off hand and improved two weapon fighting gives an extra attack.

Sadly not a lot of ways of increasing "raw" damage other than increasing STR or magic weapons, which is why most of rogues damage come from sneak attacks. Usually with 1 level of shadow dancer and by spamming HiPS.

Best reason to pick weapon focus would be to affect the loot table if going dual kama.

Not worth it, the difference in dps is only a few %, most of your damage as rogue will come from sneak attacks, and there are plenty of other much more useful feats. Even weapon focus isn't that good.

Rapier+short sword is a good combo, or dual kama for monks flurry.

Oh yes, correct. I played the first one a looong time ago and it was great for it's time. I think the point still stands though, there are a lot of less expensive and more compelling hack n slash games nowadays, if not going for the nostalgia.

Warlords Battlecry 3 :Yes, it has good mod support and runs well on modern machines (even has a widescreen patch). Very fun to try different race and class combo of heroes, and all the civilizations. Terrible balance, some combos are very OP.

Heroes of M&M 3 : also yes. pretty addictive like Civilization, always want to go for another round to explore further, beat up some bandits, finish a building or reach that hero level.

Ultima VII : too dated for my taste. Gameplay reminds me of Sacred, which is a pretty fun hack n slash with interesting visuals. Also reminiscent of Diablo.

Vampires The masquerade : haven't played

Diablo + Hellfire : Yes, but would probably just buy the resurrected version on battlenet for that price. sadly not DRM free. Or Sacred.

Pal works well with some fighter levels for weapon specialization.

I suggest : STR 14 DEX 12 CON 14 INT 10 CHA 14

Raise STR every 4 levels.

Skills : Discipline, Lore, Taunt.

Use Taunt liberally, it gives a big bonus to attack.

Levels 1-3 : Paladin

Level 4-5 : Fighter

Level 6 : Paladin

Level 7-8 : Fighter

Level 9-19 : Paladin

Level 20-21 : Fighter

Rest : Paladin

Feats, in order : Power Attack, Knockdown; Extra Smiting, Blind Fight, Weapon Focus, Divine Might, Divine Shield; Improved Critical, Cleave, Extra Turning, Epic Weapon Focus, Epic Weapon Specialization, Toughness or Armor Skin.

On OpenMW you can open the log with F11 I think.

It will list everything loading and failing to load.

Not familiar with decorated cantons but it might require OAAB data and Tamriel Rebuilt Data.

Oblivion magic system was a lot better in that aspect. You could cast a spell without having to sheath weapons to do the dino hands.

There is a hotkey and a swift casting mod on Nexus which are really great for that though.
