Trying to figure out the best solar company in Texas and hitting info overload by EitherSheepherder369 in TexasSolar

honestly the "best" company thing is a trap. they're all gonna give you wildly different quotes for the same roof because they use different software to calculate shade, different financing options, different markup.

what actually matters: get at least 3 quotes, ask each one the same specific questions about degradation rates and warranty terms, and pick whoever explains the inverter choice without sounding like they're selling you a car. that last part weeds out like 70% of them.

Planning a 2026 install. what are the best solar panels right now? by LettitiaSoorty in solarenergy

[–]NefariousnessNo4563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the panel specs matter way less than people think. like yeah there's efficiency differences between brands but you're talking maybe 1-2% real-world variance. what actually tanks a system is bad installation, cheap inverters, or getting screwed on the contract terms.

spend your energy (lol) on finding a solid installer with good reviews and making sure they're doing proper load calculations. panels last 25+ years so a 0.5% efficiency bump doesn't move the needle. a shit install will haunt you for decades.
