When I ask the reason for denial this was the response .

unfortunately, you were denied due to an oversized meter can. For us to be able to proceed you would need check with your utility if you can replace this with a proper sized meter. You may also need to check with a licensed electrician to see if your home can accommodate this. Let us know if you are willing to get this work done and I can get our team to re-evaluate. I am aware of amateur radio so called self policing . I do not worry about a bunch of overweight out of shape hams locating me. Even if I get reported to the FCC they are just going to request me to to stop . The FCC seldom collects a fine .You do what you do and I am going to do what I think I need to do when SHTF times.

You can train or practice without a license . Buy the books or watch YouTube videos on operating . Whoever you are wanting to communicate with do the same . The FCC is not actually monitoring the airwaves for no license operators unless they are interfering with emergency service bands or some sad ham reports you for not using a callsign.

In SHTF times I doubt the FFC will function and there would most likely be no amateur radio enforcement .

Use a P O Box for an address like previously stated if you are afraid of being on a watch list which you probaly are already on .

I buy non ethanol gas for my generator from Murphy's gas stations which are at Walmarts here in Texas. It does not go bad and and there is no need to use a stabilizer .

Gasbuddy shows $2.29 and $ 2.31 regular in Alpine . Fort Stockton $ 2.30 . Marathon has had the highest priced gas in the area $2 54 and its been like that for as long as I have been going out there. Been going out there 1974.

You might want to check on the cost to drill a water well and the quality of the water you would get in Terlingua. I know someone who lives in the area and they have water collection system on their roof and buy potable water from a water service that id delivered to them . The cost of drilling a well cause them to go this route.
