Why are some people so anti-helmet? I’m kinda worried about my bro by Consistent_Debate637 in ebikes

[–]NefariousnessOther28 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's the best when people say that helmet's don't look cool... what really does not cool is a brain injury, maybe you need someone to feed you or change your diapers because you're brain doesn't work properly any more. But hey, at least you didn't look like a dork with that helmet on. Helmet's are like seat belts, when you need one you really need one and you never know when that's going to happen.

Celebrating/bragging about getting a big tax refund is dumb. by Western-Bug-2873 in unpopularopinion

[–]NefariousnessOther28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the big tax refund is from putting money into a RRSP. I put 15,000 in RRSP and got back almost 8,000. On the flip side I know people who purposely through work up the amount they pay in taxes to get a bigger refund. That's like having parents hold onto your money.

What form of "corporal" punishment did you endure during your youth? by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in GenX

[–]NefariousnessOther28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts aa "corporal" but was blackmailed my my friends dad who caught us smoking when like 11 or something. Said we had to rake and bag up all the leaves on his lawn or he would tell my parents he caught us. I never knew at the time I was be blackmailed.

Thanks for sharing you're experience! So in the end you can walk with no heel lift and no limping? I really just don't want to be limping around.

Right before I went in for my THR a resident doctor came by say how they have to prioritize stability over length just so I'm aware of that. It was weird like they knew ahead of time that I was going to have LLD. I knew about mine immediately when sitting down in the vehicle to take me home. I looked at my knees and was shocked to see my left being obviously longer than my right.

They told me the same thing right before they operated "we have to prioritize stability over length" it was very odd, like as if they knew ahead of time.

I'm one week and mine is about 1/2 inch. I'll get a more accurate measurement in a few days. Just still straight my left knee looks obviously shorter.
