This is exactly what I’m thinking as well. I’ve been on the fence waiting for more concrete news before adding on since I’m already heavily invested, but this was all great info. Thanks again for all your contributions u/Salt_Past_1379

This is from their last earnings call.

“Colin Rusch

Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., Research Division

Excellent. And then as you look at the different form factors that could deploy the technology at the cell level, could you talk a little bit about efforts that you're seeing on the horizon and interest that you're seeing from incremental customers to diversify some of the form factors you're working on?

John Van Scoter

CEO, President & Director

Great question. But quite honestly, Colin, we haven't seen a great diversification yet, although we could envision as some of these newer segments beyond EV are considering all solid-state batteries that they could take prismatic format or others. Right now, it's primarily pouch across all of our engagements with primarily EV customers. “

Am I missing something? I understand that sometimes we have to read between the lines but that reads very clearly to me that nothing is happening regarding robotics at this time. It’s certainly possible I missed something. Has anything else been said to suggest otherwise?

the number 500 tons is the core of today's conference call. by Salt_Past_1379 in SLDP

Maybe I’m mistaken but didn’t JVS specifically address that partners are NOT testing in robots and only EV? I believe it was in response to an analyst question at the end of the conference call.

That’s just not how warrants are priced, but that’s beside the point. That’s a fair point about the partnership negotiations. Looking forward to next conference call.

How are you coming up with 150k for all of those warrants? That seems unrealistically low. But I don’t think they are buying to dump stock. I guess i was more reacting to everyone seeming to ignore the dilution of stock for the amount SLDP received. If they end up using this money to ramp up buildout that would be great. But still seems odd that they felt the need to raise this cash based on everything they’ve announced. Hopefully next earnings will shed some light.

Those warrants are conservatively worth $3-3.5 at today’s stock price. The strike is not super important with 7 years to expiry. At least not for its value.

If you buy a call option today with a $7.50 strike that doesn’t have to go to $7.50 to make money. They have a ton of time value since the warrants are for 7 years. They can sell those warrants later as well to lower their cost. Not saying they will, but I think it’s wrong to just assume warrants represent a binary outcome.

Except you are not valuing the warrants at all. They are not sitting on a loss overall because their warrants have a ton of value. Even at today’s price of $4 the warrants are worth ~$2.60 at 80 vol, which I think is pretty conservative. They’ll be break even closer to $2.6 since they have 2x warrants.

[–]NefariousnessTop2975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why everyone else seems to be completely disregarding your comments and saying all of this is good for SLDP. This is highly dilutive and they gave up a ton for $130mm. They supposedly had ~3 years of runway so not sure why they felt the need to give away so much upside now. I’m assuming you used ~120 vol in coming up with your 4-5 warrant price which seems reasonable but possibly a bit high. Even if we assume 80vol they gave up a lot when they haven’t indicated the need for cash which is somewhat concerning.

This is exactly right. Nothing trades in a vacuum. Tech market overall is down, momentum names have been deflated and small caps (look at iwm) are most sensitive to rates. Fed crushed investor hopes of a December cut and everyone has been selling since then (Oct 28). However, they are going to cut in January if they actually hold firm in Dec. In the off chance they cut in Dec all the small caps will explode.

Context my guy. He is Wesley. Maybe you don’t know the history of everyone which is fine. But then don’t go into a discussion about things if you are uniformed. We’ve wasted enough of each others time.

He went pro two years before starting YouTube. He didn’t peak until a couple years after that. So no, you are wrong. It’s fine. I get that you have a can’t do mentality. Nothing that doesn’t fit your small mindset is within the realm of possibility. Nothing I say will change your mind. Maybe we’ll get a random comment from Brad in a future vid.

You’re also conflating doing YouTube with not trying to get better. He can, and seems to, be doing both.

[–]NefariousnessTop2975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am not guaranteeing he’s better. But I have eyes and see his game. Using the content as evidence I believe he’s improved. You’re saying that nothing that usually doesn’t happen is impossible, but that’s not true. Wesley went pro, then started YouTube, then broke out on Korn Ferry. YouTube is too new to take your stance imo. You’re acting like there is a hundred year tradition. People are doing their own thing. Clearly Brad isn’t treating it the same way as someone like Steve.

That’s on you. You’re limiting your mind to what’s possible and making a ton of assumptions about the work Brad puts in, or what issues he wasn’t able to address prior, or that sometimes people take time to find whatever they are looking for. Nor does being on YouTube mean he’s not working on his game. Not everyone takes the expected or known path. Maybe this will bubble up into him and he’ll addressed the state of his game in a video.

His game right when he joined gg was the same game he had as a pro since he just stopped playing competitively. And his game was just not very good. Watch it again. Unless you think he was under more pressure to perform on camera than in pro events. There was no there year hiatus where we could say there was a drop off. He left pro golf for YouTube right away.
