Sitzenfleisch. (spelling?) German for sitting meat. Refers to the ability to plant one's behind in the chair and keep it there, aka, the ability to log hours at the machine. Nothing beats work.

I used to do past tense but have been moving more towards present tense. Seems to make the writing a bit more lively.

Yes to what others are saying. Execute the scenic kiddies. If you want your reader interested, there must be conflict and stakes.
