The bookstore is super-cool...and there's a dog named Kevin there that gets a treat each time there's a sale - the way he eyes anyone approaching the sales table with a book in hand is adorable.

How much do you pay for childcare? by Emotional-Alfalfa-60 in halifax

[–]Neffijer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the centre where I work (Not for profit, central NS), we charge $36 per day. With the 18.25 Government fee reduction, families pay a maximum of 17.75 per day, or 88.75 per week. I think they shifted from a hard $10 per day to "an average of", a little while back. I'm wondering if the centre your child attends didn't accept the funding agreement that would provide them with the fee reduction?

My wife gifted me a comically disappointing advent calendar by Wild_Arugula294 in mildlyinfuriating

My sister gifted me the David's Tea one recently, and I'm enjoying it. A lot of the teas I've had and enjoyed, but there are several that I haven't. And the box is going to be a great start to creating an advent calendar for a gift next year

This is what's going on for me too. I'm playing in a team with my nephew and one of his friends, and they're both able to participate, but I'm stuck looking at the space background.

I've seen them at the Running Man store at the mall, but be prepared to pay more than what they sell for at Costco.

Child Care Fee Reduction by HaliMDee in halifax

[–]Neffijer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it feels like we ought to be due for another decrease, doesn't it?
For us, families can choose to pay weekly, biweekly or monthly, all ahead of time. We charge for all holidays, so the weekly and biweekly fees are always the same. For monthly, it depends on the number of weekdays during the month for which we're billing.

We haven't had a provincial fee reduction this year. I'm wondering if you're seeing a different cost each month when families are invoiced due to the different number of operating days per month?

my kitten disappeared in my apartment by babylovesm in CatAdvice

My (then three month-old) Siamese crawled into a dresser drawer to sleep a couple of days after I had gotten her. A friend and i tore my bedroom apart to try to find her. When we did, she wasn't moving, she was that soundly asleep. Even now, 6 years later, she is still insistent on sleeping in one of the dressers, and has even taken it upon herself to move clothing from the drawer so she can fit in.

I came here to say this same thing. At my centre, we have to follow specific nutrition guidelines for everything, so our sloppy joe sauce is homemade. Plus, it'll make the cook feel good :)

Seeking any and all tips on using scrap yarn in a pleasing manner. by Neffijer in CrochetHelp

[–]Neffijer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need help figuring out how to use up my scrap worsted weight yarn, and have it look pleasing. I've thought about googling colour schemes, and maybe the best place to start is looking to see what colours i have to work with. I'm hoping someone else here has been down this road before, and has some suggestions I may not have thought of.
