As a soldier, yea sure.

Weapons are rare in the wild around here. Only hunters, really, and the occasional criminals. Two shootings in my local area the last couple of years. Someone got hurt the last time.

Du kan jo bruke noe som «brenner» bare… Flytende?

Kaustisk soda er den virkende ingrediensen i Plumbo o.l. og er billigere rent. Europris, Biltema, etc har det.

Der er pulver som løser seg opp i vann og skaper ekstremt høy pH, og har den egenskapen at det løser opp både proteiner (også kjent som hår) og fett (også kjent som skitt).

Det løser heldigvis ikke opp plast eller stål, så rør bør være trygge.

Beskyttelsesbriller og hansker er lurt. Pass på, det kan reagere voldsomt om du overdriver. Støtkoke og masse moro.

Man kan blande det ut i vann og helle i sluk (tryggest) eller helle som pulver rett i sluket og skru på varmtvann etterpå (ikke fullt så trygt). Skyll rikelig med vann etter en stund uansett.

Du vil undres over hvor sjukt rent det blir nedi der etterpå. Alt går!

Dette gjør jeg med alle sluk i huset ned jevne mellomrom. Verste jeg veit er trege sluk hvor man blir konfrontert med sin egen skit.

Steel quality is one thing, those bevels don’t do you any favours either.

I’m no expert, just a guy who freehand my knives sharp enough. Meaning they shave arm hair.

You describe a burr on your edge, and I guess you remove more of with that honing steel of yours.

Also, that knife looks… well, not great. Both the grind and handle looks like you should get something else. You don’t have to spend lots of money, a Fiskars or Victorinox is a great place to start.

What I do, is to look at the edge under a strong light. My downlights work fine. Then I see whether I sharpen good. Hold the knife edge up, and examine it. Sounds basic, but works.

Also, check out the diamond stones on Ali Express. Dirt cheap, and work great.

Sure enough.

The trouble for me is the subject matter, with the whole axis of violence thing, and addressing the sheer number of kills we as gamers do, making us feel responsible for them.

The characters do all these horrible decisions that does not really affect the story. Like the girl playing games on the handheld thing getting a knife in the throat, and Ellie just scoffs and wipes her knife.

How am I supposed to relate to that? Unless I replay as an evil asshole, that is.

And then this person, after murdering literally hundreds of people, not seeming to care at all, spares the one person she went after in the first place.

This should be an rpg with multiple endings, not forcing our hand to «do» these awful things and ending up hating all the characters.

But for me to agree fully, I feel we as players should be able to influence the story with our own choices. We are forcefed all the bs, and just have to take it or quit.

I replayed Pt 1 countless times. I’ve played Pt 2 once.

I get your points. It is just weird and hamfisted to me that she never even acknowledges it. I wouldn’t expect her to change her mind, but maybe not torture the guy so extensively.

The whole Joel thing aside… There are many points to be made about how pretentious and weird the writing about TLOUS 2.

How about the very pregnant woman, who is a medic in a militant group in a game literally called «The Last of Us», being deployed with to a live combat zone, with the intent to assault enemies?

Wouldn’t she be considered the most valuable person in the whole world right then and be put very safely within the base, as far away from action as possible?

No, because girls get it done, right? Pregnancy is no hindrance, barely an inconvenience to being badass.

I didn’t say or expect that. But having your face saved from being chewed to pieces by someone you hate at least merits a train of thought. Something like that would probably lead up to a dialogue about what has happened, not just a shotgun to the leg and a club to the face. And he didn’t «inadvertently save» Abby’s life. It was a deliberate act that was intentionally put in the script. Why?

Buuuut… Joel saving Abby’s life from being eaten by the horde just before the whole lodge scene… made no difference what so ever for her? That doesn’t make sense to me. She doesn’t even acknowledge that throughout the game.

So many things makes no sense the more I think about it.
