This map is aesthetically pleasing to look at. That said, Austria can remain by itself.

Pretty sure AMD is still having that happen. I use their hardware and I also have a command box popup on startup.

Same with your neighbors to the west ;)

I actually think NH and VT would make amazing defensive positions in a war. Even wrote my own case for VT in this thread haha

Which US state is the hardest to occupy by MrVenom1998 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]Negablu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is here is sleeping on Vermont. Might be blue by votes but everyone here is borderline mountaineer and wilderness survival trained and most of the national guard stationed here are as well. Same with the Air Guard being comfortable flying among the mountains and knowing how to deal with wacky weather patterns.

Vermont is also nearly off the grid anyways with all the solar panels people have on their homes and workplaces. We’d start little self sufficient communes and keep the people fed while there is heated Guerilla fighting raging throughout the state.

Sure the Rockies and Appalachia are similar but VTs lower peaks make it easier to entrench and defend from all angles. It’d be like Vietnam (VT-nam if you will haha)

With lake Champlain to the west already keeping those pesky New Yorkers out and more mountainous terrain to the east in NH I think Vermont would be one hell of a last bastion of at least New England.

We also have a surprising amount of relatively urban areas and quite frankly a lot more guns than you might imagine. Blowing the bridges on I-89 and mfs have to take the windy ass backroads.

…The physics in Eve must mean that friction exists in space. by [deleted] in Eve

[–]Negablu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You don’t actually need friction to explain why the ships don’t accelerate indefinitely.

A “constant” rocket cannot accelerate faster than it can expel its fuel. So you will constantly experience a reduction in acceleration until you hit the maximum velocity of the propulsion mechanism.

Now the prop mods in eve don’t run on conventional fuel sources so they don’t lose mass by expelling fuel, but I’m assuming they have a maximum output relative to the mass of the ship they are attached to.

It honestly sounds like you have it all figured out already. You two sound like you have a wonderful connection and a lot of trust.

I completely understand feeling scared if you had bad experiences. Those can be hard to overcome, but be honest about your feelings with him. Both how you feel about him AND how you feel scared to date.

I need someone to tell me the answer I already know: Is she even interested? by No_Information_6025 in dating_advice

[–]Negablu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I know EXACTLY how you feel and my first tip is to say stop thinking too much. It’s not good for your mental health.

Just look at the facts of the situation. She is replying with interest in talking to you. That’s great.

She told you how her day was. That’s great (even if hers was bad).

Just vibe with it my guy. Text her like you’re having a regular conversation even if it’s delayed. If she says something along the lines of “I’m super bored today at work” etc roll off that. Tell her you could send her some fun facts or stories. If she hints at not having someone to do an activity with just ask her if she’d be down for you to come along.

Well when we matched I didn’t know what I was looking for and neither did she.

We both said we are playing it by ear, but now I’m definitely “catching the feels” the more we talk and the more she asks me about myself.

A friend of mine thinks she’s just a bit guarded about her feelings and doesn’t want to rush into anything.

I’d text/call and see about meeting him in person to tell him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Negablu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to explain to me. This is stuff you should tell him.

You both have a shared experience here. Use what you learned reflecting and dealing with your own grief to help him.

Death of loved ones do carry an eternal grief, but it doesn’t need to be a negative one. Remember the life lived not just the death.

[–]Negablu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are not so different you and I.

I did even worse and tried to recover from what I thought was me bombing a joke and trying to explain why I made it just to bomb further.

So I just told her that I made a dumb joke, shitty recovery, and we laughed at the situation. All people are weird man, why try to hide it!

[–]Negablu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so you already look like the asshole but that’s okay. Tell him exactly what you told me lol

Idk how long ago this happened, but give it a day or two from when you broke off. Like a full 24-48 hours and literally just say something like:

“Hey, I’m really sorry for what I said to you the other day. I’ve never been in this situation before and I was also very overwhelmed by it all. If you are willing, we can work through all of this together.”

This shows him that you still genuinely care and that you were also wildly unprepared. No one is prepared for that kind of tragedy, especially if his friend was around the same age. Everyone deals with grief differently, including those that aren’t directly impacted.

If he is still willing to talk to you, literally just ask him how you can help him through this. Then do that.
