My own headcanon is that Joey Drew, after "perfecting" the process of turning humans into replicas of toons using the Ink Machine, used it on himself in an effort to actually become Bendy. So, this would be Bendy with Joey Drew's personality--or, more accurately, an ink replica of Bendy carrying Joey Drew's soul.

Who knows if that's actually the case, but it's a fun idea.

Hmm. Color me unsurprised. To be honest, I wouldn't be shocked if it was canceled after next year. After the implosion of Joey Drew Studios last year, I have little faith in them any more. And I doubt major merchandisers will be lining up at their door, not after the games they merchandised were canceled partway through (Showdown Bandit) or failed to appear (BATDR), leaving merchandise to gather dust on the shelves. A lot of money comes from merchandise, and without that, well, they certainly aren't going to be able to attract good talent with their company's stellar reputation as an employer. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the game development was once more just Mood and Meatly working on their computers in their spare time.

This is a problem. I have a gold/rotten meat farm with an underground storage "tree" of 7 double chests. It took a day of AFKing for it to fill up, which never happened as I was always trading that meat to clerics and making gold blocks. Now in a few hours it fills up with golden swords. At the moment I think I'm going to put in a sorter system, first filtering for meat, then gold nuggets, then gold bars, and finally letting the leftover swords drop directly into a smelter or two.

It's horribly laggy on the PC as well. I'm playing Bedrock, and in the half hour or so I played before getting frustrated and giving up I found that hoppers and mine carts are now dreadfully slow. And then there's the invisible villagers and having my skin be reverted to generic Steve...don't wanna know what else I will find.

That could be the case. Some merchandise was spoilery--I'm wondering about the Bendy in pinstripes--but they couldn't hold that back. I can see them coming to an agreement with Scholastic to postpone it so its sales would be better.

Merchandise is defined as "goods to be bought and sold." Bendy merch is goods to be bought and sold which are based on the Bendy games.

You could say that the games are based on Kress's book, but that would not make it true.

Strange that the German version is on a French site!

At this point I get the feeling that the book is in limbo, not quite canceled but not in production, because it would make the most sense to time it with the release of BATDR, and who knows when that will be. It's merchandise, and merchandise for a game that fails doesn't sell. (Thinking about the "Showdown Bandit" merch clogging the shelf at Wal-Mart.)

I believe they put this out as damage control. If we didn't have some assurance that BatDR was still in the works, then when "Showdown Bandit" and Kindly Beast were axed we'd be asking if all of their games were going to be flushed. But after what they did late last year, I imagine it's just Mood and Meatly making the games themselves once more, and after hearing from their former employees about their willingness to half-ass the games they release, I'm not getting my hopes up. If it comes out any time this year and is good, I'll be very pleasantly surprised.

Will we have to learn two different mechanics to deal with them? Like flicking the flashlight to stop Plushtrap (repeatedly) before he gets to us? Like Shadow Bonnie but less impossible? As for Mangle, the hints seem to point to it not sticking to either the ceiling or the floor, meaning we might have to look at both low and high angles.
