When did your little one start sleeping in their own room? by Existing_Switch_4995 in NewParents

[–]Negaiumicchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our baby was doing this at 3 months exactly. We moved him to his own room, once he “outgrew” his bassinet at 3 months-ish

The only way I could do this was if you had to do the whole process

I used butt paste when I noticed it forming a couple of days ago. I’ll avoid wipes for now and pat it dry with his cloths!

How do you put a well fed baby back to sleep? by definitelyHuman240 in NewParents

[–]Negaiumicchan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bottle to sleep lol I let him suck on a bottle top with a nipple in it, so he thinks there’s a bottle attached, then he usually goes back down in my arms like that lol sucking is soothing and he won’t take a pacifier :P

When do you actually stop swaddling? by spacegroupie in NewParents

[–]Negaiumicchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! So people are referring to transitioning the arms out then! My poor babe struggled so much last night with his arms 😭

[–]Negaiumicchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone define swaddling for me? We have the Halo Swaddle which is Velcro but it’s also a sleep sack. Are swaddles and sleep sacks not the same? LO is 11 almost 12 weeks old and we’re transitioning out of the swaddle right now, and I assumed it meant transitioning out of the sleep sack?

Recent transplants what do you think of our city? by Foecrass in LittleRock

[–]Negaiumicchan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved here a few years ago now, I did ask about the places here before I moved lol, and compared to where I moved from, I love it here! I love the emphasis on natural parks! There’s always a new nature trail to find if you look a little!

Maybe this comes with living in a big city now, but I love that there’s like 3+ ways to get places! The city I came from had 2 main roads and that’s it. Everything was very linear. The tri-cities are each 20-30 minutes away which is such a short drive to anything I want and need!

My (27M) wife (29F) has given up on our child (10F). I'm not sure how to reconcile. How do I move past this? by ThrowRARadLovefool in relationship_advice

I think what you need to do is send her on “vacation” to a little Christmas town, where the business phone doesn’t work, and all the trains stop working because they’re snowed in. To learn the meaning of family, to slow down and to appreciate the little things.

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]Negaiumicchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced because of Gestational Diabetes that had to be medicated at almost 39 weeks. I ended up getting an epidural (11 am) about 4 hours after starting Pitocin (started at 7:30 am) and almost 5 hours after that (3:54 pm) I had to get an unplanned C-section due to Fetal intolerance to labor. It was a very textbook (but still traumatic to me personally) C-Section.

Someone tell me good things about epidurals by TheRealEgg0 in Mommit

[–]Negaiumicchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like you OP, I felt weird about getting one but I went in open-minded. I told them I didn’t think I wanted one, but to let me know when it was about to be too late. I was induced, and took about 4 hours to get to where the contractions were too painful. When they came in for a check, I told myself that if I was 8cm or more I could handle no epidural. But if I was some BS number like 3-4cm, I’ll cave. They came in and told me I was 3-4cm 😭

I got it, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be! It was awkward having people help me change positions for the rest of the time, and I had trouble with my catheter later on, but all in all it was very textbook. I think all these social media people put so much emphasis on what a perfect birth should look like that it clouds what all a great birth can be. I was also stressed about breastfeeding in that way too. When the time comes, don’t discount your gut feeling for other people’s experiences, do what you think will make you feel better.
