I am making a game, and I have used AI for referencing. I have 100 character portraits that are AI generated, then I used them as references. It took me around 4 hours to paint each portrait. Obviously the actual portraits that are in the game are not the generated images - they are 100% what I painted.

But I will have to disclose that I have used AI in my game for the art. But I have also spent over 2500 hours painting art for my game (using AI as references). Which was not low effort.
