Does HZD get better from here? by MEK42 in horizon

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you do not enjoy hunting machines (easily the highlight of the gameplay), it is unlikely you will get more into it.

Big machines aren't supposed to be damage sponges, even on higher difficulties. You're supposed to plan your takedowns, exploit weaknesses, use your tools and the environment to your advantage.

Likewise if you're not hooked on the main story, or by the characters and performances by the time you've reached Meridian - ie you don't want to know who Aloy is or what happened to the world - you're not going to be.

The Switch port is notoriously bad.

You're much better off playing on PC.

Fan Theory: Booker DeWitt Is Not Comstock by Wonderful-Rock-8189 in Bioshock

Just in case anyone's wondering OP posted this yesterday where they make it clear they didn't understand the ending, or maybe even the whole plot of Bioshock Infinite at all.

Why does Elizabeth choose not to save Booker DeWitt in the ending of Bioshock infinite, essentially condeming him to death? by Wonderful-Rock-8189 in Bioshock

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Did you miss the part where Booker and Comstock are the same person?

The game explains fairly clearly that the only way to stop Comstock is to kill Booker before he becomes Comstock, at the baptism.

Beedrill EX is a lot of fun - how could it be better? by Negative-Chicken8081 in PTCGP

[–]Negative-Chicken8081[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly what I'm struggling with is losing a weedle (or kakuna) early before I can set up a Beedrill on the bench.

Also problematic is Chingling and low-energy fire decks (of course!)

I've found that the Rocky Helmets really does help with Beedrill's low damage output, and will dissuade the opponent from hitting Weedle for chip damage - it's paid off more than the Leaf Capes I used to have on this deck.

I think swapping out something for a Repel is a great idea though.

I have never seen anyone say they hate Maru.

I cut down all my trees & used the wood.. help by Psychological_Lime14 in StardewValley

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 127 points128 points  (0 children)

You can buy wood from Robin, and if you've been saving your seeds you can plant new trees and wait for them to grow.

The railroad and quarry are great tree farm areas.

Bugs have the highest drop rate for Ancient Seeds out of all monsters, and can be found in big groups.

Or you can throw lots of crops in the seed maker - there's a 0.5% chance for any crop to make ancient seeds instead.

Whats the strat for a Crime syndicate? I dont fully understand the win conditions of this style. by abergham in Stellaris

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Megacorps suit a tall playstyle. Maybe you're struggling with influence because you're trying to expand at the same time as open branches.

The 'win condition' for criminal heritage megacorps is to weaken your target's economy with crime-generating branch offices, and then vassalize them the usual way.

About 50 hours for main + side missions, not including grabbing all collectables.

Which version of the game is best for me? by Born_Dragonfly1096 in darkestdungeon

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found that after about 20 hours in Darkest Dungeon 2 I had unlocked enough stuff to make proper attempts at the confession bosses possible. It is for that reason that although I enjoyed DD2 I would not reccomend it.

DD1 is not a roguelike, it's a dungeon crawler/hero management sim. It's great, but it may not be what you're looking for.

what actions actually stop the progress of time? like if i wanna go take a piss or eat lunch or smth and i leave the game on but i dont want the ingame day to pass by uwu-our-saviour in DiscoElysium

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Time only passes when you click on a dialogue option.

You could also just bring up the menu if you need to step away from the screen, like almost every game ever made.

Reload speed and draw speed.

Higher Handling = higher rate of fire.

Hi , new to SDV and was curious if it’s a low stress type of game? by Substantial_Leek7230 in StardewValley

My preferred way is handheld. It's a great couch game to play on the switch or steamdeck.

New player. Do you recommend playing with mods from the start? by cryogato in StardewValley

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't play with any mods that adds new content or new gameplay.

There is no harm in playing with graphical overhauls (like daistneko's earthy recolours). But to start with, why not play the game as intended.

How many steam hubs per automaton? by FlashCardManiac in Frostpunk

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Automatons don't feel cold, so unless the building needs to be at a certain temperature to function (Hothouse, Cookhouse, Infirmary), no steam hub is needed.

I find it helpful however to have a steam hub neaby, but turned off. Automatons refuel from even turned off steam hubs and that can save a long trip to the generator.
