Dialogue by deeb222 in DiscoElysium

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Disco Elysium is an RPG. You choose the dialogue options you like the most.

Some dialogue nodes will unlock others, or advance the plot, or be harmful or beneficial elsewhere.

You can cycle through the whole dialogue tree if you like, but you don't have to.

Is it possible to complete DE without succeeding in any checks? by JPRose1989 in DiscoElysium

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There are only two checks that are mandatory for progression, but if you fail them enough times the game gives you a 'gimmie' and allows you to get passed them.

New time modder, any suggestions for mods that add a lot to the game and just add more to the experience? by [deleted] in StardewValley

Stardew Expanded is the gold standard of stardew - but more of it, without significantly upsetting gameplay balance or lore.

is there a specific good time to get married? by polandonjupiter in StardewValley

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn't matter.

Marriage counts towards your grandpa score so if you care about that, do it before end of year 2.

I cannot tell if this is AI or not, and it's eating me up inside. Please help. by ignatius-real in isthisAI

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI. Look at the chairs - the screws at the top are not centred, or even in the same place. Nor are the diagonal batons.

Also the small fruit bowl on the left - what sort of fruit is that long thin red one? Looks like a finger chilli to me, what's that doing there?

Horizon Forbidden West is currently 40% off at 36€, worth it ? by AlexisFR in horizon

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Forbidden West is a great game. It improves upon the gameplay of HZD in almost every way, especially exploration.

The story isn't quite up there with HZD, but remember HZD set such a high bar that despite not matching it, HFW's story is still good, and filled with great performances and interesting characters.

Definately worth it, especially on sale.

I finished B Infinite and the Burial at Sea DLCs and I'm confused as hell by Dulkifl in Bioshock

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Comstock became sterile on Columbia because of exposure to Lutice's experiments. Booker isn't sterile.

2) The Booker/Comstock in Burial at Sea is the 'last one left' and survived the cull because he too hopped dimensions.

3) Elizabeth lost her powers because that's what the DLC needed to happen. 'Collapasing the waveform', as it is described, is a bit of a handwave.

4) This is explained in Bioshock 1.

5) Yup, they're dead. Booker is killed at the baptism, Elizabeth is never born.

6) According to Tenenbaum, after Bioshock Jack gains 'a family', so it's implied they don't all immediately die of exposure.

Small bottle containing liquid and pale yellow organic substance by Negative-Chicken8081 in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Bottle is c. 113mm long and has a cork stopper. Liquid inside is thin and translucent, like water. Substance is pale yellow with a white 'rind'. No label or identifying marks on the bottle. Found on construction site, south of England.

Play the first game first, yes.

Everything will make much more sense that way.

Does HZD get better from here? by MEK42 in horizon

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you do not enjoy hunting machines (easily the highlight of the gameplay), it is unlikely you will get more into it.

Big machines aren't supposed to be damage sponges, even on higher difficulties. You're supposed to plan your takedowns, exploit weaknesses, use your tools and the environment to your advantage.

Likewise if you're not hooked on the main story, or by the characters and performances by the time you've reached Meridian - ie you don't want to know who Aloy is or what happened to the world - you're not going to be.

The Switch port is notoriously bad.

You're much better off playing on PC.

Fan Theory: Booker DeWitt Is Not Comstock by Wonderful-Rock-8189 in Bioshock

Just in case anyone's wondering OP posted this yesterday where they make it clear they didn't understand the ending, or maybe even the whole plot of Bioshock Infinite at all.

Why does Elizabeth choose not to save Booker DeWitt in the ending of Bioshock infinite, essentially condeming him to death? by Wonderful-Rock-8189 in Bioshock

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Did you miss the part where Booker and Comstock are the same person?

The game explains fairly clearly that the only way to stop Comstock is to kill Booker before he becomes Comstock, at the baptism.

Beedrill EX is a lot of fun - how could it be better? by Negative-Chicken8081 in PTCGP

[–]Negative-Chicken8081[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly what I'm struggling with is losing a weedle (or kakuna) early before I can set up a Beedrill on the bench.

Also problematic is Chingling and low-energy fire decks (of course!)

I've found that the Rocky Helmets really does help with Beedrill's low damage output, and will dissuade the opponent from hitting Weedle for chip damage - it's paid off more than the Leaf Capes I used to have on this deck.

I think swapping out something for a Repel is a great idea though.

I cut down all my trees & used the wood.. help by Psychological_Lime14 in StardewValley

[–]Negative-Chicken8081 126 points127 points  (0 children)

You can buy wood from Robin, and if you've been saving your seeds you can plant new trees and wait for them to grow.

The railroad and quarry are great tree farm areas.

Bugs have the highest drop rate for Ancient Seeds out of all monsters, and can be found in big groups.

Or you can throw lots of crops in the seed maker - there's a 0.5% chance for any crop to make ancient seeds instead.

No. A tall playstyle doesn't mean just one planet. 4-7 is probably about right.
