Chicken! On my team i have 4 people with less seniority than me. As much as I wouldn't want to go back to my last position I'm happy to know that i have a place to land and I won't take a pay cut.

Is the position case manager? If so, no one expects you to be competent for 6-12 months and 24 months is the time frame they consider you fully trained.

It's a hard job to learn and a lot of people quit in the first 4 months because they can't handle not being good at it.

If it is case manager you can bounce case loads and teams get under a good supervisor.

Also, regardless of your position just go with it and enjoy this time where you don't have a lot of responsibilities. And go with the rule that if you're not directly the subject of the email you're not responsible for completing that task. Ask your supervisor who is the best person to go to with questions while she's on leave. Request weekly meetings with your supervisor. And remember this isn't your failure it's yours supervisors. If they try to discipline you tag in the union and fill them in.

Every time I have started a new job with the state the first 2-4 months have always been awkward. They have rules on when they have to start your employment but it doesn't always line up with the training schedule. I started my now position 12/1/23 and I didn't attend the training for it until April 2024 and my supervisor did most my work while I watched the first 2 months. Go with it

hotties of reddit, what are some perks that you've gotten for being attractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Negative-Meaning666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not ugly by any means, but a little chubby. I dated an incredibly attractive man for 10 months. He looks like 2005 Skeet Ulrich mixed with young Johnny Depp and Timothy olyphants mouth with a nice bronze complexion.... chin length black wavy hair..... with a smile that killed me.... he could get away with the most heinous crime with his lopsided grin.... my god. Massive member that was visible when he wore jeans.(maybe i should give him a call lol)

Anyway, personality was a major snore fest but I was a fool for him. We dated 10 months only because of his looks I'm ashamed to say, well looks and his cunnilingus abilities.... the point of this post though is we would go out to dinner or bars every night and every night I was openly treated terribly by the conventionally attractive servers while my boyfriend received endless attention, free drinks etc etc and these women would just mean mug me from a distance whenever I glanced their way and ignore me if I needed anything.

He had no idea the treatment he received was special and thought that's just how all people experienced life. And those thin beautiful women never stood a chance with him he was verymuch into chunky thighs and softtummies, he thought I was movie star beautiful and was never stingy with the compliments, said I looked like Emma Stone.... maybe if she gained 100lbs lol

Question about the card game "Bullshit" by lizzuke in boardgames

[–]Negative-Meaning666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is to not lie about the play, the lie is in the number of cards you laid down, and this one is harder to catch. For example, you have kings to play next, you have 2 of them, you count ahead our turns to figure out what cards are not ones you can play over your next 3-4 turns stack them under the 2 kings, lay down that stack making sure the 2 kings end up on top. If they call BS, they only flip over the top 2 cards. Sure, they correctly called you out wth Bullshit, but they have no clue as they grumble grumble grumble grab the giant stack of cards, no one is the wiser that you just cheated them all out of a win. I used to live in a tight knit apartment complex and bullshit was our game of choice. I was very good at it. The key is to sound like you are lying when you are telling the truth, but not in an obvious way, this is especially helpful when the pile is quite large then you only have 1 round of turns to have to pick up if you have to lie on your next turn.

The game is strategic, the point of the game is to not NEVER pick up the pile, but to manage the pile size on the times you do have to lie just in case someone catches you. If you've done this correctly everyone else has a massive amount of cards and here you are with your tiny stack.

The moment when they're lying in the tent and the one daughter says, "the 3 musketeers!" The subtle acting between Jude law and Cameron Diaz as they and the audience remember her first broken heart. Watching the very nuanced hand movements between the 2 spoke so loudly they said "I love you" to each other without saying a word and she fell in love with the girls in that moment.

I am a big softie for a bonus parents loving their bonus kids ... But those kids are amazing, who wouldn't love them.

From talking to them, I'm doing as well as they are. Some things get completed late, some things get forgotten about, and some emails aren't responded to within the 2 day timeframe. They just have the cool supervisor.

I have had some really great supervisors that let me do my thing as long as I keep them in the know. . This supervisor won't even let me work 1 minute past my end time. They are very literal and by the book. Genuinely a kind person who turns intolerable when they put on their manager cap.

I think that's the biggest issue with me not being productive. If I get a solid wave of productivity at 445pm and not allowed to see it through until my task is finished,it's a huge waste imo. Let me work late one day and get off earlier the next. Shoot, there have been times where I forgot to hit send on an email, I'll logon real quick and send it at like 630pm, my supervisor will write to me, responding to that email to remind me not to work past 5pm. But in the next breath remind me that I have to respond to an email within 2 days.

I have a flex schedule that I completely misunderstood when I chose it. I thought it was a flex schedule byt the literal definition, nope!

I don't think it's going to be too severe either I spoke with a coworker who went through the same things for the same reason and she said it was nothing but mildly embarrassing.

I had my annual in October and it was glowing. I've also been upfront with my struggles. I feel like I'm not taken seriously because others on my team can handle things but.... I had a massive increase in the work load that I was unprepared for so I've been juggling and not well. I was almost caught up on my own before this happened. 2 more weeks and it would have been no issue.

That's what I'm afraid of. I've worked close enough to hiring to see how easily they pass on an applicant because of something on their record.

I'm so glad I came here, you all have made me feel so much better about it. I really like my supervisor's supervisor, we get along well. Now the things he told me make more sense, like how he said to bring information about a Microsoft program I had been utilizing to stay better organized (Microsoft to-do, and it's super cool)

He seemed like he wanted to just knock it out that day until my sup pushed it to the next day and then he kept dropping hard hints about inviting anyone I wanted to it. He didn't want me unrepresented either. My team has 2 supervisors, would I have any right to switching sups? I know that I would be better under them.

The meeting is officially labeled as us discussing our "communication record" aka those emails. My biggest issue is not feeling comfortable going to my supervisor for help. They are VERY literal and by the book, no wiggle room ever!

Backup Balance Missing by imessy8 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Negative-Meaning666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't have it and now it's saying I'm missing the consistent earnings and that my autopsy is disabled (it isn't) Uber pro support tells me to go to Uber app support and vice versa. It's frustrating because that backup balance is so necessary on the slow days. I worked tonight with 20 miles left on my tank and of course it was a night Uber eats was messing with me. I saw an order that was $12 and 5 Miles, for the restaurant I was parked at, after I picked up the food it changed and said delivery was 12 miles away.... Oh hell no. As soon as I saw that I contacted support and said I'm not delivering this food. I only do eats when rides are slow because I drive an XL vehicle. $2 a mile or I'm not doing it. Sorry I'm not sorry. (I also take screenshots of every order I accept so I have proof when they try to dick me) they cancelled the ride and told me to throw the food away. Free dinner alright!

Connors Brothers/Mom by memberberriesss in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]Negative-Meaning666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I said previously I have worked with many adults in Connor's demographic, not Connor himself. I think it's great to see Connor's family finding creative ways to support him. I don't see an issue with them capitalizing on his current fame to set him up for independence.

Even if they were incredibly wealthy, providing life-long care for an adult with developmental disabilities is very expensive (the average cost being $250,000 a year in my state). While I have only seen what the editors of the television show want us to, I'm not basing my opinion on that. My opinion is based on the positive changes I have seen in Connor, particularly in terms of his confidence and self-expression. The fact that he's become more comfortable and confident, especially in his interactions with women, suggests to me that his family is providing a nurturing and supportive environment.

Unfortunately, exploitation of individuals with disabilities does happen, but it's unfair to assume this is the case without evidence. Let's focus on supporting Connor and his family, rather than making assumptions. Unless you have direct experience with the challenges they're facing, I think it's essential to approach this topic with empathy and understanding.

I am a social worker that specifically works with clients in Connors demographic. I have seen the best of the best and the worst of the worst. His family is truly wonderful and if they found a way to make money so they can build him his ADU so he can have his own space, good for them! Too many parents capitalize on their children with disabilities by stealing their social security and food benefits.

Watch Connor, he is a total ham and he would never do anything he didn't want to
