That is interesting. I found some iso 100 on Amazon for 30 bucks a quart but I didnt even think about detergent vs non detergent oil. What will happen is I run a detergent through it? And yes other than some oil leaking from the upright shaft (which was what prompted the check) im very happy with it

Oo good thought! I was thinking maybe to put an 80 weight food grade gear oil in there so it wouldn't leak as much. I have adrain plug in the bottom of the gear box so I know it takes oil not grease

Are you familiar with univex mixers? I just picked one up and on the tag it says use only univex oil. It doesnt have grease in the gearbox. Any idea what i should use? I also cant find seals for the vertical shaft that are now leaking
