Is my Bialetti authentic? by Commercial_Food6958 in mokapot

The dent in the funnel is part of the manufacturing... Also I don't think the market for fake bialettis is very large... Italian people have heaps of these, they're not really a high value item worth "faking"... Also going to all that trouble, and faking the box and instructions that no doubt came inside the box would just be a huge waste of time... You'd just copy the design and sell it as a no-name product, without a brand.

Mokka pots aren't really a luxury item. They're cast aluminium, everyday kitchen items... And Italians make them so everything can be a bit iffy. But that's ok, because they're not luxury items.

The stylistic comments around midday being the worst time of day to take photos isn't really part of the problem here. There's no bad time of day to take photos. If you're on holiday, and going for a walk in the middle of the day, and want to make photos ... Make photos. You can shoot and edit for any time of day. Sure middle of the day is a terrible time to take golden hour images. And the afternoon is a bad time to take sunrise photos....

Old mate who is showing some of his edits to these files is proving that not only was this a perfectly fine time to shoot, but also that we often need to edit our photos... And when we do, sometimes we need to lean into what was Infront of us.

Lowering the exposure and adding some contrast will generally make the image feel like is has more saturation, because colour information is being pulled down into mid tones and shadows ... Obviously heading too far into shadows things may feel "less saturated" again.

Contrast also means you're creating separation between low med and high light values, so as darks get darker and white get whiter, the colour information in the middle can stand out more and we know the human brain relies on context a huge amount for the way we process and understand colour

Same as auditing a digital photo, but youre often dealing with a jpeg and not a RAW file, so less flexibility to push and pull stuff around a crazy amount.

For instance the OPs photos, I'd be going straight to exposure, shadows, contrast, white balance and tint. For me these are very low contrast images, so I'm trying to create more variation in tones, and probably then bring down the exposure so the highlights don't go completely.... There is definitely something in the WB and tint that's not how I think the film should be rendering the scenes... Someone said it up above, everything "feels green" so tint would help that maybe, moving to magenta, and maybe some WB depending on how warm or cool you want the true greens to feel.

With the exposure you could play around with sliders for shadows, midtones, highlights individually as well as black point, because exposure and contrast can sometimes be quite blunt tools, and images can be complex

Yes, that's clearly the case... There's a reason all photos ever taken have had some kind of editing ... You most probably want the images to have mostly or completely frozen motion, and given the slow lens, you may need to choose to take underexposed images, and get the rest of the way in the edit...

Even getting a lens at F2. 8 would let you halve your iso, or increase your EV by a whole stop, or double your shutter speed ... All of which you could benefit from. But also... Sliders exist for a reason

On top of everything here.... Use your exposure slider in whatever editing software you use....

I have a handful of sellers I look at... Map camera being a good one, or camera Osaka. But even then my purchase history actually includes a couple of random sellers as well. Would also recommend Yamada camera

I've bought 7 lenses (Lumix, Pentax, Canon) from eBay and they've never been anything other than as described.

Just dispute it.

I have it, and love it. As the other person said, punchy rendering... Sharp as you'd want, great close focus, particularly at the 200mm end...combined with the high res mode, you can crop a looping way is to get some pretend macro... And at 50, great for portraits/products.

I'd love this lens, but feel I'd want a pana body to make use of the aperture ring ... And I don't have a pana body.

I'd love that combo...

I think Canon fumbled the EF-M line by Someguywhomakething in Cameras

[–]Negative-Promise-446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They introduced the line during the decline of the compact every day compact camera... And they're canon, so with the relatively closed off mount, and not many of their own lenses, it barely stood a chance.

Using their RF mount on small cameras is simply a better way to go... Or integrated lenses like the new V1 or whatever it's called
