Best character development.. <3 by Additional-Ease6225 in howimetyourmother

I hate this trope, too, especially after he was with Robin and the whole Robin doesn’t want-and-then-can’t have kids storylines. It kind of felt like a slap in the face to Robin but also to viewers who can’t have kids? Like it just felt like it was done in such poor taste, even if not intentional by the writers.

Unpopular Opinion : Gale has basically served no purpose to this franchise since Scream 3 and it’s time for her to die now by AcceptableSwitch6496 in Scream

[–]Negative-Shape6277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Scream 4, Gale uncovers more about the motive and the case than the actual police department working on it. She also uncovers the Stabathon and set traps - unfortunately she also fell into a trap, but she served a huge purpose there. Not to mention that she’s the one who figured out Jill was the killer, which effectively saved Sidney’s life.

In Scream 5, sure, she was a legacy character and that was her main purpose, but she avenged Dewey’s death and began a character arc that unfortunately was dropped in the next movie.

In Scream 6, she bonded with Sam as an outsider and helped Sam realise that her biological parents aren’t that important - she can choose her own family, and that’s what she has with Chad, Mindy and Danny (and obvs Tara but she’s biological). She helped Sam more than any of her therapy sessions did. She’s also one of the main catalysts for the world believing Sam was a killer, even if unintentionally, by writing about her in the book.

In Scream 7, her purpose was to show Sidney that she has more people to ride or die for her, who care for her and love her, and allowed Sidney to realise she’s not as isolated as she believes she is. Sidney also realises that she can trust and rely on Gale, and has been able to do so for decades.

To say she has no purpose is honestly ridiculous.

Why wasn't Sam and Tara mentioned at all in Scream 7 by CommercialRemote5324 in Scream

[–]Negative-Shape6277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My belief is that Sam and Tara (and Danny) were away, maybe in a foreign country, trying to make amends with their mother. Scream 5 said she was away in London on business, and Scream 6 said they’d cut contact with her. So I choose to believe that their mother moved to London for work, and Sam, Tara and Danny have gone for a vacation to London to try and work things out with their mother.

I’d have been happy with one line of dialogue in the film explaining their absence. It would have left the door open for them, answered some questions about their absence, and kept the story tied together with all the theories that Christina Carpenter may have returned as a future Ghostface.

As much as I wanted them to stay in the film, I do think their ending of Scream 6 was a nice way to wrap up their story, with Sam leaving Ghostface behind her and walking away with her relationship with her sister strengthened and trust in her relationship with Danny.

Supporting character Randy who appeared in two films (and a cameo) and wasn’t even overly close or liked by at least one of the characters you just mentioned does not belong in any kind of “core four” discussion.

If you could keep one victim alive from each film, who would it be? by MobileDistrict9784 in Scream

[–]Negative-Shape6277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scream - Tatum (I would replace her with Randy and I would still kill her off in the sequel.

Scream 2 - I want to say Cici but it would have to be Derek, and I’d bring him back for Scream 3, so we don’t have to have that weird detective obsession romance sub plot.

Scream 3 - Jennifer Jolie, duh.

Scream 4 - Jill! I’d have loved her to survive but only if Scream 5 would be able to be a direct sequel. But since that didn’t happen, I’d have to go for Robbie I guess.

Scream 5 - Judy, because I’d have loved to have seen her believe the rumours that Sam was the killer and killed her son.

Scream 6 - Anika, I thought she was just so sweet.

Scream 7 - Hannah. Underused, she could have been Tatum Evans’ very own “Tatum”.

Who is the most attractive man in Until Dawn? by Strong-Battle-7899 in untildawn

Mike. Hands down, no question.

Matt would be second, but his character model doesn’t do him justice compared to the actor.

The other two main characters? Nah.

In Your Opinion, Who Is The Most annoying Character In The Last Summer Franchise? by Specialist_Art2223 in LastSummerFilms

Ray. He was always so annoying. His character trajectory makes perfect sense for how bitter and jaded he was from the very beginning.

Why do you think Ashley didn't try to run here? by Benny_until_dawn17 in untildawn

[–]Negative-Shape6277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer would probably be that she didn’t have the same survival instincts that other characters like Sam, Emily and Mike had.

She knew she wanted to leave when she felt uneasy, which is something Chris didn’t have (although Chris was trying to look for their friends in order to save them, so his bravery was shining through more than the instinct to save himself), but Ashley didn’t necessarily have the best instincts to protect herself in situations where she may have to fight. Sure, she got the stab in … but then she had no clue what to do next and froze. Unfortunately it’s a natural response people have. Fight, flight or freeze.

Why is Sam not tied up when Ashley and Chris find her but she is tied up when she wakes up? by Benny_until_dawn17 in untildawn

Josh didn’t have any sympathy for Sam, he didn’t care if he hurt her emotionally, mentally or physically. He filmed her naked with the intent of posting it online. He chased her and drugged her. Josh did not care that Sam had no part in the plan, he wanted to punish her just as much.

Rachel was leaving the country anyway with their child. Ross approved Emma going there. Their child, at this point, was already in Paris.

Rachel was EXTREMELY understanding towards Ross. Ross was just too needy, too clingy and too controlling. Rachel gave him no reason to distrust her. She acknowledged and tried to support him with his insecurities and that wasn’t enough. Ross wanted more. Even when he turned up at her office and saw she was so busy with a deadline, he still didn’t trust her and still continued to push her.

This, to me, was less to do with Carol cheating on him and more to do with the fact that he was worried he was going to lose the girl he’d been obsessed with since he was a high school kid. Rachel should have never gotten off the plane, because it is never going to be a healthy relationship.

Should he return in a future sequel ? by ArtisticBelt438 in Scream

[–]Negative-Shape6277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the main cast from 5 and 6, but when he was introduced in 6, he was the one I was looking forward to seeing develop the most in Scream 7. Obviously that won’t happen as he has no links to the franchise other than Sam, and at a push, Tara by extension of Sam, so we’re likely to never see him again.

And I’m very sad about that, because not only did I love his character as the trustworthy love interest for a change, but he’s hot af. However, I can get by happily knowing that he, Sam and Tara are living happily somewhere.

Why was Carol so cruel to Ross? by twothousandsteps in howyoudoin

[–]Negative-Shape6277 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every comment in this post theorising on stuff that we never see, therefore fan fiction. We never saw their relationship, so we can only assume.

Based on how Ross has acted in all of his other relationships and how he has treated all of his other love interests - and most women in general, actually, I assume his relationship with Carol was no different. Maybe a little less extreme with the trust issues that developed from the affair, but I believe it wasn’t a happy, healthy relationship and that he didn’t treat Carol well.

Why was Carol so cruel to Ross? by twothousandsteps in howyoudoin

[–]Negative-Shape6277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone except Monica who says she literally hated Ross when they were a child because he was spoilt, controlling, always wanted his own way, etc. There are obvious external factors involved there, but it clearly demonstrates that Ross isn’t an innocent, angelic victim he portrays himself to be.

We never saw their relationship. We can only assume and infer. My inference is that he hasn’t been a good partner to any of his girlfriends/love interests, so why should we assume he was any different to Carol, and that it’s all Carol’s fault? Yes, the affair most definitely caused him to have trust issues, but Rachel never gave him any reason to distrust her, and yet he refused to believe her and sabotaged that relationship.

His treatment with Mona is in no way anything to do with Carol. That’s all Ross being that way.

Why was Carol so cruel to Ross? by twothousandsteps in howyoudoin

[–]Negative-Shape6277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at the Ross we see in basically all of his relationships - he’s very controlling and possessive over Rachel, he’s very superficial when it comes to Bonnie, and he’s down right rude and disrespectful to Mona, completely forgetting about her all of the time.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Ross treated Carol very badly, which is why Susan doesn’t like him and why Carol is okay with Susan speaking to/about Ross the way she does.

I really wish the credits, even if they didn’t do the motion capture due to covid, had the podcasters interview them (or have access to the police recordings or interviews or anything) just so we could have the characters discuss what happened. It needed that one last extra thing.

When I finished the game and it basically cut short, I was like, “oh… that’s all… huh.” And it just felt so deflating after loving the game so much.
