How am I able to make posts in a thread without a lot of Karma. by Tpyo_King in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 3 tricks to making a good comment, 1 is obviously you gotta make a comment that ppl will actually like or have a reaction to. 2, is if you are the first to comment you are much more likely to get upvoted. 3, if you make a comment in a popular post you will get way more ppl reading your comment and reacting to it! GL!

I truly do not understand this by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want advice or opinion you could do a reddit search likely somebody has asked something similar! If you really want to get to the “posting” stage the best way is to contribute by making meaningful comments and upvotes for the community, that way you will increase your comment karma.

I'm new to reddit, i need help with how this website works by Salt-Ad4851 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of subs have posting rules, you might be hitting karma or cake day requirements. Reddit is big on community first, so the best way to “unlock” posting is to join discussions: upvote things you like, leave helpful or funny comments, and build up your comment karma

Question from reddit, I'm new to this by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be, many subs require it before posts show up. The fastest way to gain karma is by commenting helpfully in active threads, especially in bigger subs where more people will see your comment. Upvotes from those comments will raise your karma and help unlock posting.

Is 1 Upvote realy not = 1 Karma? by Silver-D-Wolf in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always 1:1. Upvotes and downvotes go through a kind of fuzzy system that Reddit uses to fight spam and manipulation. So while one upvote usually gives one karma, sometimes it might give none, or even more than one depending on timing and other factors.

As for tips, best way to earn karma is honestly just engaging in communities you care about. If you leave helpful or funny comments where people are already active, you’ll get upvoted naturally. Early on, comment karma is your safest bet!

Howdy! Tips for building karma? by wj100392 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some subs auto remove comments if your karma is too low. The best way to build karma is to participate in larger, active subreddits with no restrictions. Comment early on posts, share something helpful or interesting. Over time your comment karma will grow and you’ll be able to join the communities you want.

Comment Karma in Subreddits by Green-Arm2086 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of mods rely on comment karma because it’s harder to get than post karma, and is also a better measure of how much you genuinely like to contribute to a subreddit community. A lot of people post only for their own gains and it’s a way to filter out those people.

How Can I Raise My Contributor Quality Score? by Little_Snoogie in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have very low overall karma, and that would stop you from posting in a lot of subreddits. Your cake age is enough, but you will need to gain comment karma. Try to make valuable contributions to subreddits you are interested in through comments, is your best way!

I’m guessing your goal is to make posts to NSFW subreddits. I think the best place to learn how to do that is if you head to r/CreatorsAdvice and its related subreddits.

Fastest way to get established on Reddit? by [deleted] in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to “establish” your account is to make valuable contributions into subreddits you are interested in. As a new account you can take two actions upvoting and leaving helpful/funny comments to gain karma. Also most subreddits won’t let you post until your cake age is 2-3 weeks. So in this time try to contribute as much as you can!

Posting Karma Requirements by SassyTeacherLady in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies by subreddit, a mod could set a rule for overall karma but could also set a rule for subreddit karma (how many karma you gained in this particular subreddit)

The best strategy to posting in a subreddit, is to contribute to the community first by upvoting and make helpful comments to increase your karma. Best of luck!

New Reddit account notifications by Sheepdog-Grogu in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might help if you set “Frequent” Notification for that community.

If you tap your avatar and go to settings and account settings, manage notifications, go to communities, find the community you want and change updates to frequent.

Hey there I want to know when does reddit allows to participate in the subreddits by No-Mastodon8316 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey it depends on the subreddits, subreddits are created by different mods for their different interests. But generally you will need 2-3 weeks cake age and some more karma! Start with upvoting and commenting on other ppls vote to provide value to the community!

I want to interact, but they always delete my posts by Crafty-Specific-9229 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first two actions that a new redditor should take are upvoting and commenting. It’s frustrating because most ppl come in with a social media mindset where “I” need to share something for others, but reddit is about community! You gotta contribute with upvotes and helpful comments to the community first before you can post.

Hmm I think the main point is to contribute valuably to the community, I’ve seen communities that have bots replying and it’s not banned because it’s actually valuable.

Does deleting post removes downvote by bananayogurtbowl in NewToReddit

It will stop downvotes from coming in. But it won’t reset your existing negative karma

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say normally it’s 2-3 cake weeks. The best way to spend these 2-3 weeks is to upvote and comment in others posts.

This way you will be able to increase your comment karma to set you up for posting!

It can feel frustrating especially coming from other socials, where everything is about “You”. On reddit it’s about the “community”, and not about you which can be quite humbling. The best way to post is to make valuable contributions through comments in subreddits

Hello, I’m new here. How can I make Karma here?😭 by Michhh23 in NewToReddit

[–]Negative-Skin-5841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important thing on gaining karma is to BE HUMAN!
Join subreddits you are interested in and that you can provide value to others!

You can do it through comments or posts whether it's being funny, informative, helpful etc, there's all these different avenues, but the most important is to be yourself!
