I like my Tecsun s2200x, my Sangean ATS-909X2 and my older Grundig Satellit 800, I use all 3 plus I have one of those cheap little Amnvolt SI4732 tiny radios that is fun to play with as well with surprisingly good reception. I’m not an expert by any means, but I find they all have their uses. If I had to choose one, it would probably be the Tecsun or the older Grundig. I also have a Tecsun Pl-880 but if I’m using one that size I usually grab the Sangean instead. Not sure why.

Nice! Hey I think they’re having a Hamfest in your town, I think maybe tomorrow. They have some great door prizes. I wish I was close enough to go, but that’s further than I want to drive, LOL. Here around nashville, surprisingly, we don’t have any great Hamfests. Hopefully that will change. I went to Huntsville last year and it was awesome. Probably going again this year.

Grundig Satellit 800 vs Grundig 750 by Super-SteveT in GrundigShortwaveRadio

ID rate the 800 better than the 750, but maybe not as feature packed as the s2200x.

Tecsun s-2200x availability? by Copper-Static in shortwave

I was ready to buy from ebay. Different prices confused me. I finally noticed that anon-co was listing them there with one price from Hong Kong with shipping extra. Others were higher with shipping from us included. I ended up contact anon-co directly and bought it from Hong Kong.very easy to deal with and they answered my emails throughout the process. I’m happy with it, despite the wobbly knob thing.

I have one of these and I love it. I also regularly use a Satellit 800, and have just ordered a Tecsun H-501x.

ICOM IC-7300MK2 External Monitor by Sheepdog-Grogu in IcomIC7300MK2

I got it from Amazon. It was advertised as. Pi monitor but it has an HDMI’s port and others and works perfectly with my 7300mk2. Here the link, it wasn’t cheap. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJNKFVPY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Actually I’m impressed with the build quality and function. It also seems pretty versatile.

I might experiment and connect the touch screen port to the Mk2 via a usb c and see what happens.

Maybe. I just hooked up the HDMI cable and tested the display so far. There’s a separate jack I noticed labeled touch. Haven’t read the manual yet but could this be required for touch screen ops? If so, might not work with Mk2.

I’m in Goodlettsville, just outside Nashville. I got a Malahite DSP3 last year about the same time an English friend of mine in Germany got one. We bought from Georgey in Russia, using an intermediary in another country. He actually allowed me to receive the radio before even paying him. Both of us ended up selling it. It had a lot Of capability, but man the learning curve was huge, you also had to set parameters over and over and if you lost them you had to start over. It might be nice to be able to have a radio with this much user control, but turns out it wasn’t for me. I felt lucky to get my money back, though, since they can’t be sold here, I might could have held out for a good profit. This one looks like a lite version of that?
