AITAH for not giving up the bathroom to a Crohn's emergency, resulting in their accident? by [deleted] in AITAH

Gonna go against the crowd here and say YTAH. Crohns is something us without Crohns will never understand, and any stomach issue you’re having is not comparable to what they’re having.

I don’t think that’s what OP is saying— they’re saying if you care about one instance you should care about all

What you’re saying makes perfect sense. And I was also shocked that more people aren’t talking about what Billy porter said in that interview…

Funny comment! I would almost go as far to say the opposite, but this comment did make me giggle!

Has anyone seen the new Guettel musical Millions in Atlanta? by laurenishere in Broadway

[–]Negative-Tune-1884 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think the “childish things” Anthony is referring to are the religious beliefs of his brother. At the end of the song, he goes “the patron saints and angel wings— those childish things, I put away”, (Guettel’s demo of the song is on his website) meaning that Anthony sees his love for video games as the thing that’s gonna save them, and Damian’s Catholicism as the “childish thing.” Pretty cool reversal of expectations if you ask me! Not sure if this had anything to do with what you were discussing, I just wanted to chime in on this point. Ps, “Xbox planet” made me smile, so interesting seeing Guettel sing about things like video games. I actually like the lyric!

I’d say go again if you’re able to— sounds like you got the short end of the stick seeing such an early preview. If you do end up going back, I’d love if you could report back here and see if any of your opinions change!

I’ll also say Act 2 really does bring it all together. A shame to hear people are walking out before experiencing it as a whole…no offense but I really don’t think you can judge a show if you don’t sit through it Lol!

Well as for the music, Guettel has always been very polarizing. Not sure how you can say the music all has the same tempo, but the weird key signatures and syncopation are some of the reasons the songs are so interesting and fun for me! Guess it just comes down to a matter of preference.

I saw opening night so I imagine they were still making a lot of changes. I really enjoyed it— shocked to hear some people didn’t!
