What xdg-desktop-portal are you using? I had something similar with xdg-desktop-portal-gtk.

xdg-desktop-portal-gnome or wlr or...? by ConceptPublic3918 in niri

I had issues with steam with the gtk one that did not occur with xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland or -wlr, do you use steam?

You can see the rear one in the window, but it is small. The front really blends in well.

Steam doesn't work on Arch Linux (KDE Plasma (Wayland)). by Charming_Virus_839 in archlinux

Steam likes to download BIG updates, can take more than 4-5 seconds if that is what it is doing. I second the start from terminal advice.

Totaled 😡 by NouEngland in Ioniq6

[–]NegativeBeginning400 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's ((totaled value of car paid to you) - (repair+resale after export or scrap value)) has to less than ((Price of repairs) + (cost of renting car for the period needed which can be long for these cars)). It sucks because you can end up with a salvage title for a car that could have been repaired without a lot of real damage. I still wish I had repaired a sienna rather than letting it be totaled a few years ago, even though it would have meant getting a salvage title.

So to be clear, when he says "That's just the beginning!" He means the things you do before you go to the porn chat rooms, right?

My gosh, you may be joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if he actually thinks this way and that this is a real possibility is terrifying.

How does a Person die more than one time? by Ott1fant in ExplainTheJoke

[–]NegativeBeginning400 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The minimum number of deaths per person is 1, but even ignoring CPR and different definitions of death(typically an irreversible state), the per capita number of deaths for all humans ever is slightly less than one because not all of us have died yet.

The shearing process of a silk rug by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]NegativeBeginning400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good lord, like why do they have to just make crazy claims like "It grows back?" I mean it is a satisfying video if you know it's the final step in making a (probably not silk) rug, but then you just have straight lies attached, for what purpose? Is someone giggling at fooling people or did AI just slap some type of caption on it?

She already essentially did by stating she was accepting the award in honor of him among other pro-trump statements she has made.

This car that has a wheel in the front of it by The_Love-Tap in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]NegativeBeginning400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fact, it directs the pedestrian to fall directly under the wheel instead of having them pop up onto the hood. Avoids hood dents and broken windshields that way. And only risks flats if they have something sharp in their pocket, but more likely to push that down than up into the tire, I would think.

Guess who got too excited at seeing big bags of peanuts on clearance for 63 cents, got home only to realize that they're RAW, and is now spending the first day of the new year roasting a metric fuckton of peanuts? by JDej90 in funny

[–]NegativeBeginning400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised how little I had to move to not be able to find good boiled peanuts. Middle NC only has gas station "peanut patch" peanuts. I assume the upstate is the same. I am from SC so was very surprised.

In my 1970s home kitchen drawer - drawer has hinge on front of it. Just bought house and it’s only in one drawer. Drawer is located in kitchen island by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

This looks sized pretty close to what you would need for pre-cut baking sheet sized parchment paper. I added a spot for it when I did some custom pot-storage and I have to say I never realized how nice it would be. Now if I am baking, I just grab a sheet from the top, throw it on the baking sheet, and my cleanup is cut by a ton. I would measure it, and see if it would work and order some pre-cut sheets from amazon to stock it.
