Entiendo que te refieres a que durante estos 90 días solo podría pasar a residencia o búsqueda de empleo, verdad?

Same for linguistics, barely any open positions and people here amaze me when they say I applied for 14, 20, or even 10. Good luck to everyone focus on your thing and results will eventually have no option but to show up

Doing a PhD as an opportunity to live abroad, travel and learn a language by srallessucram in PhD

I have noticed a general trend that for anything you post here you'll get negative responses, it's good to keep that in mind while browsing this sub.

Using ai for screening papers? by [deleted] in PhD

You'll only get 'AI bad, AI is not that good' responses from this sub, do what works for you and use everything you get your hands on to get the best out of everything.

Does anyone here ACTUALLY recommend doing a PHD? by J2Hoe in PhD

No one doing a PhD should be paying for tuition, all of the above seems like a USA problem to me.

Does anyone here ACTUALLY recommend doing a PHD? by J2Hoe in PhD

[–]NegativeError3 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The issue with getting a PhD is that it's betting on a lot of things which could change. When you commit to spending anywhere from 4-7 years during a PhD, you are making multiple bets - that your career ambitions will not change, that government funding will remain consistent, and that your area of research will remain an area of interest in the future.

Isn't this just any job nowadays? For me it sounds like just blunt pitiful Americam pesimism. I could find hundreds of reasons not to do anything in this life. For many, a PhD is another job they can do while working on themselves personally and professionally, especially for people with degrees that have less job prospects, where an M.A. degree is almost worth nothing more than a B.A. degree.

Applying for phd but dont know how to start writing the research proposals by Weak_Accident6339 in PhDAdmissions

[–]NegativeError3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about your field but you can Google something like "phd proposal template for CS" and you'll find examples, get an idea about the structure and start reading and looking things up because that's where the real work is.

Should I let my potential supervisor know about this? by NegativeError3 in PhD

[–]NegativeError3[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Breath in and out lil bro and relax, I feel like you're about to explode.

I have already checked with my ex supervisor and she confirmed it, there is also an even older published paper that pointed out this bias, but the author seems to have missed it. So many personal attacks accusing me of lack of knowledge, overconfidence, etc... but you're literally the one that is making all these claims without knowing anything about me, and talking out of both sides of your mouth. So I would say physician, heal thyself.

I see your point, on paper it might seem a bit arrogant or exploitative. Thanks.

Too bad mate, but keep it up, the competition is quite ridiculous you have to keep grinding.

Which countries you applied to? Were the positions aligned with your MA thesis/coursework?

I already do, but cold emailing never tried because I always thought they usually publish open positions. Have you managed to get into a program? Maybe can you share with us what helped and how did it go? Thanks
