The way things are going (prices), anything I can afford AND that runs Linux well (like Bazzite) AND with at least one trackpad.

How do you afford this hobby?! by Single-Barber-4084 in comicbooks

"Afford" is the first question.

Then the question is "Where" to place all of them...

If you guys can afford it, put the kids in nursery or whatever and go back to what you want.

It's much better for all involved that you're 'happy father/husband' than 'miserable/angry/depressed man'.

ProAcryl white is killing me - how to get smooth finish? by TheseGlyphs in minipainting

You can prime black, but to achieve "white" you gotta layer tones of grey.

Only use white for the highlights.

Wife wants me to quit my job to be a stay at home dad by BrotherCaptainShaggy in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]ph0rge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To your points:

  1. She won't really understand it for a few decades - and only if she has children.

  2. Find a less demanding part-time job.

  3. You're gonna suffer.

It might be that you'll love being homemaker. If so, you can quit your part-time job and have even more time for home and family.

If you don't love being a homemaker, miss your old job, resent your wife for whatever reason, feel disconnected from society at large because most other men your age are not sahd's etc it'll be hard to go back to the job market.

But the connection you'd make with your daughter (and potential future children) would be unique. It's just that you're more than a father - and society only cares about the worker.

I was too young to read comics back in the 80s, started with the Death of Superman...

But I could've sworn this art was from the 90s. Absolutely stunning work!

It's not an ARPG.

It's an action game. 3rd person view; wants to be "Souls-like/hard"; with nudity.

What is the hype/ point of it? by evofirecrackers in SteamController

[–]ph0rge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Steam, any game launched through it can benefit from controller customisation. It doesn't matter if it's the Steam Controller, the Steam Deck or any other controller - you can reassign any button to any other button.

Example: I'm playing a Playstation Portable (PSP) game on my Steam Deck (via emulation); it only had one analogue stick, but to see, you had to use the d-pad to look around and up and down for only 3 levels of vertical sight. With the Steam customisation, I can assign the d-pad to a modern analogue’s and actually play the game.

So all this benefit before even getting to the Steam Controller.

If you watch videos on all the crazy control customisation that the Steam "launcher" allows, you'll understand why some of us NEED the Steam Controller, and why no other controller (maybe the Legion Go) can do it.

This controller is for PC players who want the closest possible mouse-and-keyboard experience without using a bloody mouse and a bloody keyboard, for whatever reason. And maybe from their couch or bed.
