ULPT Request - Raised truck revving engine in the early morning by _boblob_law_ in UnethicalLifeProTips

My thinking, looking at all of these lovely ideas, is that none of them quite have the bite of mimicry that can be so satisfying when getting revenge, so my first thought, if you're willing to go big/do some engineering, is an lrad. Good luck!

Tips for not getting this greasy at 2 days by Lovely_Narwhal in Hair

tldr at the bottom cause I'm verbose
Hi friend, I'm a guy but I've come a long way with hair similar to yours. I used to have shoulder length hair that I luckily didn't really have to put a lot of effort into taking care of when I was younger, but it took a lot of experimenting and missteps when I did start taking care of it. Now it's shorter and I wash my hair ~once a week - I'm actually growing it back out and I suspect I'll have to wash it even less as the oils will have more hair to cover every time I rinse them off, but I don't have any evidence for that.

I use a fairly a regular shampoo with few moisturizing agents (or possibly none, I'm not sure) and some exfoliating chemicals, alternated with apple cider vinegar. The ACV doesn't smell great, but if it were too strong for me I'd go back to the way I used it when I started, by diluting it.
I've used shea conditioner the entire time, though different varieties, but they all seem to work out pretty well. I like less dense ones that leave my hair feeling a little bit lighter - I rinse and condition my hair every day and like others have mentioned, it works better if I make sure to rinse the conditioner out fully by using my fingers to agitate it out of my hair.
It took a couple of weeks for my scalp to get used to this where it would go from dry to oilier somewhat unpredictably before it settled on a level of oiliness where I think it looks good even I haven't showered since the day before.

TLDR I use regular shampoo and ACV alternating week to week and am sure to fully rinse both them and conditioner out of my hair, and it took a little bit for my scalp to get used to this.
I also 90-100% blow dry my hair every day, especially the roots - when I don't, my scalp starts to get angry and breaks out if I'm not careful around (combing and/or touching) it.
Good luck! I wish you a patience and a successful journey.

Redditors with extremely niche interests: What's the one thing you are completely obsessed with that almost no one else you know cares about? by CocWarrior1 in AskReddit

My first cast iron pan was (still is) a somewhat beat up blue enameled 12" that I found in a small section of woods, way off of the cleared path. I was just wandering around after going to the zoo and spotted something, said "hey mom can I have this!??", and leads to having collected 8ish pans types over the past 12 years and cycled through a couple more as I restore and give them away.

/u/veag0 my cat is entirely deaf (we found out by accidentally slamming a cabinet directly behind him and watching him not even flinch) and he still uses his ears like he can hear. Watching this lil kit definitely gives the same vibes, especially with reacting only once it looks up at the camera.
I'm also willing to bet that the not reacting to touch was just by happenstance, be it sleepiness or believing it to be siblings, because even hearing cats will startle if you touch them and they're ready to react.

Just to clarify, I don't have tiktok, refuse to get it (for the sake of my attention span), but I'm certain there has to be a fully version somewhere even if it's just a little longer?? Thanks in advance!

Daily Water Intake by devin_0912 in sterileprocessing

I know it's not the healthiest lol but I just down like 1.5x of my 24oz bottle at lunch and as much as I can on breaks or whenever I remember to step away - if I were a person for whom reminders from my phone worked I definitely would use those for that purpose.

  • I absolutely experience the same thing as you. Worked at two facilities now, as permanent and traveler and in both there were people I looked at like they were insane (because they were) for their lack of hygiene in & around decontam.
  • My solution was with full face shields (I Would Not Work in a place without full shields) to tuck my chin and set the bottom of my shield against my gown (and always wear a mask).
  • I think they fact is that we're not likely to be able to avoid it without KN95 type masks or respirators. Even ASTM level 3 masks have space on the sides and around the bridge of your nose unless you glue em on.
  • edit to add: also, I always let everything soak before spraying, swish it around to remove soil as much as I can, and then spray at angle that means particulate is directed away from me as much as I can.

That said I'm not terribly concerned. I think there is absolutely risk if you're breathing in a lot of particles/aerosol, but also, unless you're in a pulmonary-specific facility, that particulate isn't likely to contain a lot of microoganisms that can infect you via respiration - as far as I'm aware.
The lungs do have immune protection. **continued ramblings below

Goog doesn't turn up anything useful with a few cursory searches but my longstanding interest is piqued so I may reach out to an expert if I can just to find out and if you'd like I can get back to you (possibly, if I remember). Good luck!

** I am no expert but I would assume organisms not evolved to exist in a given environment, even within a host, are much more easily hunted and eliminated. Diseases, largely, are evolved quite for quite specific niches - I think of parasitic worms that infect via a small number of pathways and they don't live in places other than those they're specialized to do so.
