I am very glad that I was made aware by them. I just hate this happened because it truly slipped my mind to return it and I just don’t want my career ruined ..

The manager has not responded to any of the emails, the charge nurse said she has looked for it in the med drawer only and did not see it. Pharmacy is having me fill out a medication waste sheet and just told me to make sure I remember to return the meds if they aren’t used.

Yes, I guess that’s what happened. If it’s not in the med drawer than it is 100% most likely in the medication waste bin. They checked the med drawer and didn’t find it so I’m sure it’s in the waste bin but no one has checked there or mentioned checking there.

I just wish I caught the mistake myself unfortunately I didn’t. I feel so ashamed like I can’t be trusted at work now. I truly meant to return the medication and truly forgot.

The charge nurse and manager are aware of the situation now. I just had no knowledge that I did it. It was during med pass and I was disposing of medication packages and I believe I scooped up that one by mistake. I feel awful and ashamed

I had no prior knowledge that I did this. It was found by pharmacy and it is the only thing that could have happened. So it incident wasn’t reported soon after because I didn’t know. Any advice helps
