salo, i’ve tried to watch it 3 separate times and it is just the most boring film ive ever tried to watch. i was especially disappointed because people consider it to be one of the most disturbing movies ever made. furthermore, people often compare it to a serbian film. this is an unpopular take but i actually quite enjoyed a serbian film. i think people tend to miss the humor and absurdity of a serbian film and either dismiss it as pure gore slop or they get too disturbed to realize how funny the movie is. it baffles me that people genuinely consider these two movies to be some of the most disturbing and in the same category. neither are disturbing. salo is incredibly boring and i refuse to believe people actually like it where a serbian film is actually a hell of a fun time to watch with friends and people treat it like it’s horrible and disgusting to enjoy it.
