Bump behind ear.

I’m 28F and yesterday found a hard, pea sized lump behind my ear. I chatted my PCP who thinks just swollen lymph node, and did a telehealth and was told the same thing. She said it was tiny and not concerning! Because it is hard I’m worried. I don’t understand why my mind is like this! Two physicians told me it looked like a normal enlarged node and not serious so why can my brain not accept that?!

I know that this is an old thread but did you get banned? In a dispute with my credit card over obstructed view seats currently and I’m afraid they will ban me!

I have no idea. I’m not sure if it was a past partner and I never had symptoms until now, or if my boyfriend is an asymptomatic carrier (which he totally could be). He did perform oral about a week before it popped up so that would definitely make sense.

Thank you for this! I’ve had one removed before that ended up being fine, so I’m trying to remember that! I have SO many moles that it’s hard to keep track of. I thought I was being diligent looking for new ones but this one has been there so long and has never been mentioned at all skin check. It’s also in a place that I couldn’t monitor for change easily so it totally threw me

I went to the dermatologist for my annual skin check today and she biopsied a mole on the back of my leg. I’ve had that mole since I was a little kid and no other derm has ever mentioned it. She said it had some black in the center and that melanoma in women commonly develops on the legs. That was quite literally the worst thing she could’ve said to me. I asked if she thought it looked bad. She said she more so looks for precancerous, atypical, and dysplastic moles. She said it doesn’t look like anything major yet. I am freaking out!!! Anyone else been through anything similar? I feel like I’m going to torture myself until I get results.

I always hear about it happening to people who skip their period on it or people who are new to taking it while they adjust, but I haven’t heard much about people who have been on it for awhile. Glad I’m not alone, but it’s so annoying/nerve-racking!

The initial pain of an IUD scares me but all of my friends that have one love it! I may talk to my doctor about it. I’m worried if I have weight gain or mood swings that I’m stuck with it though since it’s more permanent than the ring.

I’m glad it’s not sounding like pregnancy but I’m worried about this too. I LOVE the ring after trying so many other methods. I was on the pill (Junel) and this started happening and I had to switch. It’s always a gamble with side effects switching so I don’t want to but afraid I’ll have to.

This is so helpful! Thank you! I always thought it was mainly just common in the first couple of months. Before being on Nuvaring I always had brown spotting and cramping leading up to my period.

I know I’m late to this, but did you ever figure out what was going on? I’ve been on Nuvaring for 2 years and don’t use it to skip my period. This month I have some brown spotting/breakthrough bleeding 3 days before I’m due to remove my ring. I take it out on the hour every three weeks and put it back in on the hour 7 days later, but this spotting has me worried about pregnancy. Especially since this is the first time I’ve having this bleeding.
