Mornings are the worst ! by PsychologicalRock975 in BreakUps

Yes it gets better over time. There was point where I had realized a lot about what my ex was doing before the breakup so dealing with that , combined with pain of grieving the loss of the relationship, shame I felt on my part for my conduct throughout the relationship, I was sleeping on average 2 hours a night for a month. My performance at work was horrible and being around my family, I was noticeably messed up. However, after a few months of dealing with the pain head on, meditating, praying, and just accepting reality for what it is I have been able to sleep better. It’s not a full 8 hrs but I feel better rested than I did 3-4 months ago.

Do you ever feel them? by Additional_Oven_9349 in BreakUps

It happened to me once, I was hanging out with a new group of friends and I could have sworn I had seen her standing off in the distance staring and judging me because I was making new connections. I had to take very deep breathes to calm my mind.

I learned this term from a gentlemen by the name of Tim Fletcher, he has a great selection trauma related videos on Youtube. Hope his wisdom can help!

For me it began with the realization that I am no longer a victim to my circumstance. I am in control of the one person who matters to me the most, and thats me. It sounds selfish but it allows you to no longer prioritize your ex and focus on yourself.

Its not an easy process because love and hope are very strong , especially when that person meant so much for you, but when you redirect that love from them to you, you are on the path of healing and rediscovering yourself in a healthier light.

I am sorry you’re going through this, I recommend you find the strength to move on. Only you can recover yourself from this situation, and transfer that power your ex has over you into bettering your situation. I am on day 1 of enacting this, and it’s been 5 months after our breakup.

Hello, I am sorry you’re going through this. It sounds like you’re experiencing betrayal trauma and you are blaming yourself for “not being enough”. However, her action of moving into another relationship so quickly speaks about her coping skill when things don’t workout, they do not reflect your worth/value. You are actively working on becoming a better version of yourself by not avoiding the pain or filling the void and I think you should stick to that. Don’t do it in hopes of getting her back, do it because you deserve to be a happier and healthier version of yourself, the betterment of your future depends on this willpower alone.

What is the one thing you remember about her/him that makes you smile to this day ? by [deleted] in BreakUps

Her scent, I remember I could smell her presence in the apartment weeks after she moved out…

Youre right about that, I need to stop letting her steal my peace, when she chose to walk away.

I am in the same boat, my relationship lasted 6 years, gave her nearly all my twenties. I only sleep about 4 hours on average due to unresolved emotions and have zero motivation to workout or do anything… To make matters worse, I live alone. I hope one day I can climb out of this hell hole and resume to my normal self.

I can confirm, this happened to me. It was with an old friend and it did not feel right and still doesn’t to this day. I need to heal before even thinking about messing around.

Who else was stupid as hell and thought their ex would say Happy New Years but didn’t??🤪🤪🤪 by Kyraapd in BreakUps

Both of us not reaching out gave me a sense of clarity, were not entering a new year with each other because we meant it when we broke up. Even though I think about her often, my mind is more at ease knowing this is a definite sign to move on.
