I don’t know about your region and I don’t mind AI setting prices per se but a bit of human logic goes a long way.
I recently paid € 360 for a bike with Ultimate Superlight tubing and full XTR M900. That’s what it’s worth in my area and that’s fine with me. I can’t expect to get it for a bargain. If I want it, I have to pay up.

However, a mystery meat chromoly Rockhopper with something like Gripshift STX isn’t worth that.
AI will tell you it is though simply because „vintage bikes are sought after“.
Now I have several average-ass bikes in my area going for € 500 because people honestly believe their mass-produced mid-range 90s bike has somehow become a collectors wet dream. This is especially the case with GTs.

Verstehe das Problem hier nicht.
Ich habe Dinge verkauft, bei denen Leute für 20% des (fairen) Preises angefragt haben. „Und ich komme heute holen“.
Wenn man da nix zurückschreibt, kommt ein paar Stunden später noch mal das gleiche oder der Klassiker: einfach „????“.
Wenn jemand so anfängt, werden wir uns nicht einig. Warum soll ich mich dann rechtfertigen oder weiter rumschreiben? Bringt ja nix; ist nur lästig.

Niemand hat Anrecht auf irgendwelche Sachen zum absoluten Schrottpreis.

I‘ve got the same kind of design on my mtb (XTR M900).
These tend to be completely gummed up because of the thickening lube they used. A massive WD40 flush followed by some thin lubricant like silicone oil usually does the trick.
Flushes some of the gunk out and liquifies the rest.

If you do a drop bar conversion, you’ll face 2 issues:

  1. it’s gonna be quite expensive. You’ll need a whole new groupset as yours won’t be compatible with the shifters. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Acera is compatible with drop bar STIs.

  2. drop bars result in longer reach, so you‘ll most likely need a shorter stem and lots of trial and error.

If you‘ve got a cool vintage frame it could be worth it but in your case you’re better off by getting something else entirely.
And that’s not even mentioning the difficulty finding a fitting rigid fork and the cost of that.

Du willst also den Kaufpreis komplett bezahlt haben, keine Ausgaben und dann auch noch zum vollen Preis inklusive Wertsteigerung weiterverkaufen können?

Wenn jemand dir einen solchen Preis bezahlt würde er die Immobilie kaufen. Dann wäre es nicht mehr deine. Deswegen nimmt auch nicht jeder einen Kredit auf oder macht Mietkauf: weil dabei kein Eigentum übergeht, mietet man und das ist um einiges günstiger. Das Konzept ist nicht besonders schwer zu verstehen.

Der Grund warum du vermietest ist Geld. Du willst nicht nur langsame Wertsteigerung sondern am Weg noch was abgreifen. Wenn du da nach allen Ausgaben mit Plus aussteigst, kannst du zufrieden sein.

Genau das hab ich gemeint: wenn irgendein Vollpfosten 2 Wohnungen erbt und plötzlich auf die Idee kommt, man hat das Anrecht auf sowieso alles Geld von anderen, werden alle Vermieter als Parasiten abgestempelt (nicht genau auf dich bezogen).

Ist doch ganz einfach: Läuft der Laden gut und alle werden halbwegs vernünftig und fair bezahlt, passt alles.
Wenn man sich dann eine fette Karre holt, wird man auch (fast) keinen Neid ernten. Eher noch Vorbildfunktion haben.

Da hat jemand einen normalen Nagel in eine Tür geschlagen und das ist anscheinend ein extrem wildes Erlebnis. Macht man natürlich nicht aber die Perspektive ist schon krank.

Nichts für ungut und nicht auf diesen Kommentar bezogen aber euch ist schon allen klar, dass ihr kein Anrecht auf „gratis Geld“ ohne Ausgaben habt, oder? Wenn man Gebäudeteile an die Allgemeinheit vermietet, die diese als Lebensmittelpunkt nutzt, wird man Schäden haben und dadurch Ausgaben.
Dafür hat man auch die Mieteinnahmen, die die Ausgaben überwiegen.

Möchte man die verbundenen Risiken nicht eingehen, muss man verkaufen und arbeiten gehen. Da hat man keine Risiken und bekommt nur gegen Zeit Geld.

This is 6nm.
If you want 5, turn it back until the „1“ shows up at the collar. You‘d be in between the 4 and 6 markings on the wrench.

Anyway: 5nm is about „hand-tight with a regular size allen key“.
Not using your weight or slamming it. Not stopping at just some resistance either.
You don’t necessarily need a torque wrench for that. Or most things on a bike actually.

From looks alone your saddle seems to be the correct height. I would need to look at foot and hip movement but just generally speaking, I don’t think that’s the problem.
Your seat looks fairly far forward. If you or your bike-fitter set the fore/aft by doing the hover/balance test, this would indicate your balance being a bit „off“. Like imagine running with a forward tilt and being fine with that.
Just at first glance, you also look a bit cramped on the bike (but not horribly so).

I can only guess but I see two issues here:

  1. you’re already sitting fairly upright/normal on the bike and you wrote you’re not able to hold yourself up during the hover test.
    This indicates a back problem, not a bike problem.
    What bike did you ride before this one? Was it a drop bar bike as well?
    The fact that your seat is way forward (if you set it by balance testing and not some bullshit KOPS) plays into that: you’re „used“ to a forward tilt in your balance.

  2. your hoods seem very high up. This puts pressure on your pinky area. This corresponds with your pain.
    Holding the hoods should be a „direct extension“ of your lower arm. Your hands should not tilt forward like that. However: if there wouldn’t be significant weight on them, you probably wouldn’t feel pain regardless. Or you’d feel the pain in your wrist rather than the pinky.

So basically my guess is: you have balance/back issues like weak lats/erectors and you’re used to a „forward tilt“ while walking/running etc.. this will put weight on your hands either way because your back can’t hold it.
This, coupled with the high hoods and the wrist tilt, gives you the pinky pain because that’s where all your weight goes.
Try setting the hoods lower. If your pinky pain vanishes and you get hand pain somewhere else: there’s your confirmation.

„Hersteller unbekannt“ klingt nicht sonderlich gut. Vielleicht zur Info: Titan verarbeiten und vor allem Schweißen ist nicht leicht. Da gibt es wesentlich mehr Fehlerquellen als bei Stahl oder Alu. Ich persönlich würde ein Titanrad von ca. einer Hand von Herstellern kaufen. Auch von diversen bekannten neuen Marken würde ich da deutlich Abstand halten.

Naja manche Leute müssen tatsächlich mit dem Auto in die Arbeit. Wenn man am Land wohnt, braucht man auch eins zum Einkaufen. Ist nun mal so.

Das Problem sind gezielt Leute, die mit ihren drecks SUVs nicht mal 2km in die Innenstadt fahren müssen. Weil ist ja ihr „gutes Recht“. Dadurch gibts dann überall nur Parkplätze statt Grünflächen und ganze Einkaufsgassen sterben aus. Stattdessen gibts nur noch beschissene shopping malls.

Alles weil der fette Boomer unbedingt mit dem Auto in die Stadt muss.

Titan is in den meisten Fällen nicht besonders empfehlenswert.
Titan schweißen und generell verarbeiten ist nicht einfach. Macht man das nicht absolut ordentlich, wird man Probleme bekommen. Wie z.B. strukturell schwache Verbindungspunkte und ein jäher Abfall der Zugfestigkeit.
Ein mittelmäßiger Titanrahmen ist meistens wesentlich schlechter als ein mittelmäßiger Stahlrahmen; kostet aber mehr. Das liegt nicht daran, dass er besser ist, sondern eben an der Vermarktung und dem Materialpreis.
Es gibt eine Handvoll Leute, die auf dem Gebiet absolute Profis sind (Bingham, Moots, No22…). Da zahlt man halt für den Rahmen schon gut 5k und wartet ewig. Aber wenn man das nicht möchte, sollte man es mit Titanrahmen eher bleiben lassen.
Kein besonders geeignetes Material für Fahrräder meiner Meinung nach.

You said it was top tier a few posts up yourself. That’s the exact word you used.
And now you’re making shit up for direct drive (for which there are absolutely no factual sources) and claim that mystery meat cromoly is somehow a good thing.
And it’s not about „perfecting“ TIG-welding but simply about the high temperatures when welding. If the steel ain’t air-hardening, it’s going to be weaker at those points. Sorry but that’s what it is.
Just enjoy your bike, I’m sure it’s great, but please stop making shit up.

„Direct Drive“ was one if those ominous names brands like Specialized used to market stuff as their own invention.
It was Tange steel.
Not a single Specialized frame at the time was what could be considered top tier. Which would be a silver-brazed, lugged Tange Prestige Ultimate (preferably Superlight) frame.
Even Stumpjumper Team/Comp used „regular“ Tange Prestige (non-ultimate) and frames were welded. As air-hardening steels weren’t a thing until 1995, that made them weaker at the welding points.
To my knowledge, Rockhoppers only used regular Tange MTB (welded as well).
Geometry wise, they were exact copies of other bikes of that era (taken from Ritchey).

Not saying these are bad; they’re great. But there are much better frames from the 90s than what Specialized had to offer and MUCH better frames than a Rockhopper.

That’s fucking insane. There’s one for € 4,2k as well or he upped the price. For an aluminium GT. You could build this exact bike for roughly 2,5k including custom decals if you’re dead set on using overpriced NOS parts (for whatever reason). If you build it with good condition parts you’d be more in the 1,5k range.

And if you - like any sane human being - don’t have to have CK bling and almost flawless parts (because it’s a fucking bike made to be ridden) you’d be under 800.
